Home from Summer Sizzler 2025
A big week of showing and we are so glad to be back ready for the next show with some great results and lots of homework to improve our skills.

Huge thank you to my team that traveled down with me, and a special mention to Bonnie Grosso for all your help this week and to both Bonnie and Taj Carson for the helping hand when I got sick and took a quick trip to the hospital, without you both I definitely would have struggled to show for the rest of the week so thank you!

The 2024 Ranch Horse Association of Australia Inc Open Ranch Horse Invitational Champion.

Yulgilbar Do It Like Roy, was bred by Yulgilbar Quarter Horses in 2010. By the legendary Pl***oy Roy, and out of exceptional producer Winderadeen Pure Elegance.

โ€œMortโ€ was purchased as a 2 Year Old, and trained by Sue, having a successful Non-Pro Cutting career.

Mort adapted quickly to a Western Performance Career, earning Trail, Western Riding and Reining AQHA points. He was also nominated for the 2017 Trans Tasman Team, demonstrating his versatility by placing in the Top 5 in all classes entered.

With the introduction of Ranch Riding & Ranch Versatility to Australia, Mort accumulated National and State titles. Along with being utilised as a demonstration horse for clinics and events such as the QLD Horse & Home Show and the Cowgirls Gathering to demonstrate what a Versatility Ranch Horse is.

Mort has battled bouts of Ross River Fever since 2017 and underwent colic surgery in 2023. His first show after surgery was the 2023 Tropicana Classic, where he won the All Age Open Ranch Riding out of a strong field of 21 horses.

We cannot be prouder of what this horse has achieved. We are also proud of the hard work and dedication Kasey has put in over the last few months on their journey to EQUITANA Australia.

As we approach the 2025 show season, we are eager to wrap up 2024 with a trip to Melbourne's Equitana.
Kasey is set to compete in the RHAA Invitational Ranch with Yulgilbar Do It Like Roy.

Meanwhile, Glenn Wyse will assume judging duties at Equitana for a separate event, followed by judging the Nifty November Show in Tatura.

We are excited to see what the 2025 show season brings, and are looking forward to seeing our clients progress and archive there goals in the new year!

Best of luck to everyone competing at the Reining Australia Nationals this week, and in the โ€œCrushed Iceโ€ Rookie Level 2 Class.

The Reining Australia Rookie Level 2 National Championship Buckle and Perpetual Trophy is sponsored by Crushed Ice.

Crushed Ice was inducted into the Reining Australia Hall of Fame in 2018.

Crushed Ice, affectionately known as โ€œSquirtyโ€ was born in 1996 bred by Ian Francis, a Chestnut gelding by Just Plain Frosty out of Docs Meter Maid. His first futurity win was in 1999 at the Queensland State show shown and owned by John Wicks.

Crushed Ice partnered with John Wicks to show at the 2000 Sydney Olympics for a Reining demonstration. Soon after he was sold to George & Leanne Baker.

Crushed Iceโ€™s show career spanned from 1999 until 2016. Under numerous riders Leanne Baker, George Baker, Jack Baker, Grahame Cooper, Shane Watts, Leone Browne, Hayley Backhouse and up until his passing was shown successfully by the Wyse family. All riders winning major events throughout his career with this forgiving nature, short & solid build, and great mind from Youth to Open & Aged events.

Crushed Ice passed away in 2017 leaving a lasting memory in the lives of many who owned, and rode him along with anyone who was involved in his show career.

Crushed Ice show career spanned for 17 years with LTE $17,015 in Reining. Plus 113 accumulated points with AQHA across, Trail, Ranch Riding, Reining, Hunter Under Saddle, Showmanship, Boxing, Horsemanship, Western Riding and Halter. He was donated to the 2016 Youth World Cup where he competed in the Reining.

The Perpetual Trophy is made from Squirtyโ€™s last set of sliders.
