Don’t forget that tomorrow, the 1st February, is the Beachmere Community Markets at 53 Rogers St, Beachmere, from 7:00am until midday.
Lots of outside stalls where you’ll find the best Bacon and Egg Sandwich in Beachmere and fantastic coffee from REBEL RED The Mobile Coffee Van. Returning this month is Peel and Pantry with Market specials of Baby broccoli bunch $1.70 each, Calypso mango $1.30 each, Trust Tomato’s $3.50 a kilo, and Red delicious Apples $4 a kilo to mention a few. You’ll also find fudge and lollies, local Honey, 2nd hand goods, plants, local handcrafted wood products, and other local hand-crafted items.

Inside there there’s some jewelry, fantastic hats, essential oils, pottery, and some hand crafted delights priced to meet everyone’s Valentines Day budget.

The Beachmere Community Markets are on again this year, commencing February 1st, and then the first Saturday of every month for 2025. The markets operate from 7:00 am until midday. There are some vacant sites available for keen stall holders who want to become part of a niche seaside village market.

We have a vacancy for a fresh fruit and vegetable vendor, and the community is keen to see something different to the local stores. We already have quite a wide range of stalls, check out our event advertisement to see what’s there, but in most cases it’s only one stall of a particular type of product on offer. There are vacant sites that could house vendors wishing to sell their produce, whether that be hand crafted goods or works of art, or jams, spreads or sauces, clothing, 3D printed ornaments, trinkets etc, or even laser engraving or cut creations or similar done via a CNC routing process.

Have you checked tomorrows weather? It's going to be absolutely gorgeous!! I suggest you get down to the Beachmere Community Markets at 53 Rogers St, Beachmere, before it it gets too warm.

Lots of stalls, both outside and inside (air-conditioned) the Shed, plenty of opportunities to grab those Christmas gifts still on your list. And don't forget the fantastic Bacon and Egg Sandwiches for Breakfast, or a great Sausage Sandwich for a mid morning snack.

Only three sleeps to go until the Beachmere Community Markets are on again!

The weather is looking fantastic, so why not come down for a bargain on Saturday 5th October between 7:00 am and 12:00 pm at 53 Rogers St, Beachmere. Lots of stalls outside, and also a heap inside through the entrance by the BBQ.

This month the Beachmere Community Disaster Management Team will be present so you should drop in and have a chat with them to make sure all your disaster information is up to date as we approach the annual storm season.

Heaps of regular stalls including handmade Pottery, Paper Cut Art and Cards, Melts, Diffusers, Sprays, Scents and Oils , Jewellery, many different types of Embroided items, Knitted and Hand Sewn goods, Honey, Fudge, Jams, Plants, Clothing and Hats, Handbags and Bags, Sun Catchers, Candles, Ribbons and Bows, Dog Treats, Second-hand and Bric-a-brac, great Coffee, and more.

Once you’ve checked all that out, the kids can get their faces painted, and you can sit in the shade of the umbrellas over the outdoor tables while you eat your Bacon and Egg or Sausage sandwich from our BBQ.

Back in March 2024 we had a International visitor, Christy Sheehan from Ireland. He’s a member of the Mens Shed Mullinahone.

Last week we received a present from Christy, two beautiful hand crafted pens. One of these pens is very special. Both pens are made from Irish Oak. The dark one however is made from timber found in a peat bog, and is very old. The documentation that come with the pens authenticates the timber in the dark pen to be from around 6000BC.

The next project for our Shed will be to build a suitable display case for both pens and the documentation. I’ll post again when that’s completed, then you can drop in an have a look for yourself.

We had our first experience with Tai-Chi recently.

The markets are on again tomorrow and we have a sunny day forecast 👏

As the hosts of the monthly Beachmere Community Markets, we take great pride in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere.

In addition to our role as organisers, we maintain a dedicated stall where we showcase and sell a range of our handcrafted products.
These include meticulously crafted planter boxes, charming bird boxes, and a variety of other garden items designed to enhance and beautify outdoor spaces.
Furthermore, we offer delicious BBQ food, adding a delightful culinary experience for our visitors.

We had a visit this morning from the Federal Member for Longman, Terry Young. It was good to catch up with Terry, he’s a great supporter of Men’s Sheds. We started with a bit of a committee chat and a tour of our Shed, showing Terry the workshop and discussing the issues we’re encountering, and some very brief discussions on our plans for the future.

We then met in the meeting area with all the members present this morning, where Terry told us about his life leading into politics, and his philosophy on life. He then opened the meeting to questions, and there we quite a few of them. We run a bit overtime, we’re sorry for that, however I think everyone was very appreciative that he put the time aside to come and talk to us.

So, Thanks Terry! from everyone at the Beachmere District Men’s Shed.
