This handsome lad is Cruiser. At 11 years old he is rocking on with his cheeky playful puppy moments. He is the epitome of a successful outcome in ongoing management of his current osteoarthritis, with his parents' devotion and medical intervention. We are sure that everyone who has had, or will have, the good fortune to meet him would have their hearts melted by his charm and gentle nature. Well done Cruiser, Mum and Dad, way to go!

This sweet bundle of golden fluff, also known as Sunny, visited us yesterday for her desexing procedure.

Bailey was such a brave boy getting his vaccine today!!
He was particularly excited about the crunchy treats that seemed to rain down onto the table, it didn't take long for him to find the source and attempt to get some from the jar himself!

Udon the snake came to us after the petstore he belonged to noticed he had an unusual shape to him!
He had escaped from his enclosure the day before and been on adventure around the store until a staff member had found him near the aquariums in the morning.
We performed some x-rays and were surprised by the results!
As pictured in the x-rays, it appears Udon had helped himself to a large rat shaped snack while he was on his escapade. Thankfully despite the rats size, he passed it safely under careful monitoring by the store staff. This highlights the importance for snakes, particularly young ones like Udon, to have prey of an appropriate size.
Our veterinarians and vet nurses at PETstock Cannington are happy to deal with a wide variety of species, including reptiles so feel free to bring your scaly friends down and have a chat to the team.

Meet Primrose! She was nursed back to health after she was found abandoned outside a Pet City store one morning. When she was found, she was cold and very skinny. The vet team provided warmth, intravenous fluid therapy (via a catheter placed in the ear vein - that's what the bandage is about!), and nutritional support. It did not take us long to find out what a foodie she is!
Meet Harry! This handsome pup visited for a health check with the vet team. After lots of cuddles and treats, he unleashed his inner feline. Woof-meow!
Screamy was brought to us with a deformed beak. Despite this, he was determined to let everyone in the clinic know about his day (with his delightful 'screams' hence his name!). He was eating well and in great condition. Screamy underwent a beak trim under anaesthesia, which he recovered swiftly from and continued to eat well. Big shout out to Nat from Pet City Bentley who has taken him on! Screamy is living in a 5-star boutique hotel now with two others, and is letting his mum trim his beak little by little to keep them in check. Well done Screamy and Nat!
Little slippers came to us as a tiny rescue rabbit only 3 weeks old.
He was treated by our vets, given plenty of food, endless cuddles from the nurses who fell madly in love with his adorable and playful personality.
Although we were a little sad to see him go, we are so happy to announce that he now has a loving forever home with one of our store staff members where he is being spoilt as he deserves 💓
Meet Jaffa - this gentleman is our first to take part in our Senior Health Month in June! We promise he qualifies for this, because he is 13 years young but looks like he's at most half that number. He was such a champ with having his blood test performed, and his results came back spotless. All cats should aspire to be like you Jaffa! Happy Senior Pet Month!
From the 1st to the 30th of June Petstock Vet is offering a discounted senior wellness check for the owners of cats and dogs from 8 years of age (7 years for large dog breeds).
This offer is exclusively for pets as a routine, general senior health check and includes a physical examination with the vet plus a health screening blood test. If you have any serious concerns for your old pal or want to investigate a recent or ongoing medical condition you won't qualify for the senior discount, but we would love to see them anyway for a regular consult.
Because, although they may still act like crazy pups and kittens, it's important to check in on the health of our furry friends as they age so we can detect any problems early, give them the treatment they deserve, and make their retirement life as comfy as possible 😉

Puppies galore! Eight Staffy puppies vying for attention, each with their own personalities. They all took their vaccinations like champs, and MamaDog was a great moral support for them!
Arthritis is a painful joint disease that ~40% of dogs silently suffer with. It is important to notice changes in their behaviour, such as avoiding going up the stairs or struggling to do so, as this could be an initial sign of arthritis.

Snickers, an Australian Kelpie, came in today to visit Dr Jessie and have her Cytopoint injection. Cytopoint is an injectable treatment for dogs with skin problems due to allergies.
Today is also Snickers' 3rd birthday!

Feel Good Friday! On Tuesday afternoon, a member of the public brought in a tiny kitten who was found in her neighbour’s yard. The kitten was in poor condition and affected from fleas, worms, starvation, and heat stroke. Dr Jessie and Nurse Emily cooled her down, hydrated, and flea treated her. Dr Jessie also gave her a light wipe down bath as she was incredibly dirty. The little kitten very much enjoyed this. Dr Jessie and Nurse Emily decided to name her Linda, after her rescuer. Luckily, this little baby has now been saved by the Homeless and Abused Animal Rescue Team (H.A.A.R.T). PETstock VET Cannington work closely alongside H.A.A.R.T to ensure their rescue animals can receive the best quality veterinary care possible. H.A.A.R.T are a not-for-profit animal rescue with an amazing group of volunteers.
