**SHARON & HUNTER'S WEST "ONLY IN MY DREAMS" OUT WEST RUN!**

Parkes—a quaint Aussie town where the number of Elvis impersonators rivals that of Graceland itself!

On our last day of Hunter & Sharon's adventure, we journeyed to Peak Hill, NSW. After a restful break yesterday, it was another early start. Tomorrow, we hit the road for home. My "Out West" bucket list is complete, but today brought an unexpected thrill I could never imagined.

In today’s class, we secured another win in Ridden Breed and went on to achieve Reserve Champion. The workout was one of the longest I've ridden, but we nailed it without breaking a sweat. The emotions I felt when I was called up for Reserve Champion were indescribable. It wasn’t just about the title—it was about sharing the lineup with Emma, who took Champion. She could have thrown it for her old mother 🤷‍♀️🤪
Being beside her, as a mother, was a moment of pure joy and pride. There were definitely some happy tears.

Let's just say, today couldn’t have been more perfect.

A dream to an adventure and yes "I've got this"!!!!

**SHARON & HUNTER'S OUT WEST ESCAPADE - DAY 3**

Today, we left Parkes, famous for its iconic Parkes Radio Telescope, the star of the 2000 movie "The Dish."

We had another early start to make it to the 86th annual Weethalle Show. The flyer’s description caught my eye, especially the Pumpkin Soup Competition. As for the Guns Galore sideshow, let’s just say it wasn’t what I had imagined.

A big shoutout to the Weethalle Show committee—today’s event was fantastic, and your hospitality was top-notch.

Another day in the saddle meant pushing through some aches and a lack of sleep, but I did make it to my class. Hunter was quicker to settle today and snagged Reserve Champion Hunter Hack. I'm thrilled but wiped out; at one point, my legs felt like they might just fall off—those who know, know.

Tomorrow is a "day off," but it'll be filled with work, wash, plait, and repeat. At least I get a sleep-in.

Next up is the Peak Hill show for two days, featuring the must-see "Noah's Thoroughbred Racing Pigs." Can’t wait!

HUNTER & SHARON'S BIG OUT WEST SHOW RUN ADVENTURE!

Parkes: Where Giant Telescopes Meet the Occasional Elvis Sighting

So, it's pretty soggy underfoot and under wheels.

Day one kicked off at 5am with the show team heading to Bedgerabong, NSW, 2871—population somewhere between 100 and 200, give or take a few if a B&S ball is happening on Census weekend. And if you’ve got a spare million burning a hole in your pocket, you might just snag yourself 12.1 acres and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! But you're not here for a geography lesson.

Last night’s entertainment? Trots! And no, I’m not talking about my unfortunate bathroom adventures. The Parkes Harness Racing Club must’ve caught wind that the family was back in town because they threw together a twilight meet just for us. I could’ve sworn I saw Elvis driving in the 4th race—wiggle those hips, baby!

You’re probably wondering how my procrastination is holding up. After carefully working through my symptoms (totally not stalling), Hunter decided he was the one with a case of the procrastinations and took a little longer to shake it off. But eventually, we made it to a class, and let me tell you, I knew I had this in the bag (no I didn't).

Hunter was an absolute dream, winning our Hunter Hack class, and then we went on to nab Reserve Champion Hunter Hack! Am I over the moon? You bet I am.

And yes, before you ask, my bespoke hunter jacket is brand new and a stylish green tweed—ideal for the hunter class. Where did I get this beauty? Glen Mia Saddlery Bega, of course, with the perfect design and craftsmanship by Just Neigh.

Oh wait, another geography lesson. Tomorrow sees another get-out-of-bed in the 5s and a 194km trek to Weethalle, population 307 and Wikipedia tells me that Weethalle means drink.

So, drink we shall, we're popping the champagne tonight to toast Hunter and Sharon's winning streak—because I've totally got this!

One day, a wise old lady told me, "A show season works wonders for both a horse and its rider."

***SHARON & HUNTERS OUT WEST ADVENTURE BEGINS!***

Greetings from the wild, wild West! If you’re wondering what on earth inspired me to embark on a week-long adventure out here, well, let's just say my bucket list had a midlife crisis and decided it wanted to have its own reality TV show.

We packed up the float, loaded the family, and braved the Great Western Plains with a mix of excitement and a dash of “What in the name of spurs and saddles am I doing?” Seriously, at one point I had a conversation with my GPS about my sanity, and the GPS was like, “I’m just here to direct, not judge.”

Yesterday, we rolled into Parkes, our glamorous base camp for the week. You know, Parkes: home of the giant telescopes, and apparently, now the epicenter of my existence. Our current mission is to work Hunter (check), wash (check), and plait (uh-oh, not done).

Tomorrow's grand event is the Bedgerabong show. Yes, you read that right. Bedgerabong. It sounds like a place where kangaroos go to dance parties, but I promise it’s real and only 64 kilometers from Parkes. That should give me ample time to procrastinate about entering any classes. Procrastination is an art form, and I’m considering enrolling in a master class.

I’ve convinced myself that I've got this, thanks to my new mantra: “I’ve got this.” I say it so often I’m starting to sound like a broken record—"You’ve got this! You’ve got this!”—to the point where even my horse is rolling his eyes.

So, here’s to the great unknown, to the journey of discovering whether I actually *do* have this, and to the sure knowledge that no matter how the show goes, I’ll be back with stories of the West that will make even the tumbleweeds chuckle.
