Good luck to all our friends who are competing for NSW Dog, Puppy or Neuter Of The Year at Orchard Hills tonight.

Unfortunately, even though we were entered we couldn’t attend with Precious (CH Beljala Precious Commodity), who had qualified to compete with multiple Class In Show awards in each of the age classes (Baby, Puppy and Minor) she has competed in to date.

Jim and I still have Covid. We are very sad that we had to miss out on showcasing our beautiful girl.

Home from an epic day at the Advance Sydney Royal Easter Dog Show 2024 General Specials day.

It was a long and tiring day as we were in the dog pavilion from 7am to 5pm but we spent it with good friends.

I was very proud of Chase (AUSTRALIAN GRAND CHAMPION Beljala Game Set And Match). He gave his all and showed his little heart out. That is all I could ask of him.

We were not shortlisted for group but we were in very good company as many good dogs were left standing in the ring.

We were thrilled to be selected as Best Of Breed last Saturday and we’re honoured to be representing the breed in the group line up in front of such a large crowd.

Even though we didn’t bring home any ribbons yesterday (having brought home so many the week before) I know I bought home the best dog.

It was a family affair for the Havanese judging at the 2024 Advance Sydney Royal Dog Show today.

Three generations of Beljala Havanese took nearly all of the top honours.

Chase ( GRAND CHAMPION Beljala Game Set And Match) was awarded:
🥇1st in Australian Bred Dog Class
💥 Challenge Dog
🏆 BEST OF BREED

His son Eddie (AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION Beljala Limited Edition) was:
🥇1st in Intermediate Dog Class
💥 Reserve Challenge Dog

Chase’s Granddaughter, and Eddie’s daughter, Precious (AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION Beljala Previous Commodity), with an entry of five bi***es and only one day out of Puppy Class received:

💥 Reserve Challenge Bitch

Precious’s mother Jojo (AUSTRALUAN CHAMPION Beljala Jumpstart My Heart) was:

It was a very tiring day but we are extremely proud owners, breeders and handlers. 🍾🥂🥳

Here is Precious’s official photo for her Junior In Group win on Friday at the Hillsborough Autumn International Classic with Mr Rex Wang (Taiwan). At this show Precious was also awarded Challenge Bitch, A2O Certificate and RunnerUp Best Of Breed.

Precious (AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION Beljala Precious Commodity) has now returned to the Number 1 position on the Dogzonline National Rising Star Havanese Pointscore 2024.

She is sitting in the Number 2 position on the Dogzonline Havanese Breed Challenge National Leaderboard Pointscore 2024.

Whilst I had not previously posted Precious’s achievements on the Dogzonline Pointscore for 2023, I thought that I might as well make a mention of them here (better late than never LOL).

We were not going to enter her into the Dogzonline Pointscore in 2023 because she only entered the show ring as a Baby Puppy in July. Some of her competition would have had a full six months of results ahead of her.
However, after a few months when she continued to do so well, consistently winning best of breed, class in group and the occasional class in show awards, a good friend convinced me to start to enter her results.

With just under two months results recorded Precious was named:

Number 1 Havanese Rising Star in NSW 2023.

Number 4 Havanese Rising Star Nationally in 2023

Number 2 Havanese Show Dog Of the Year in NSW 2023

Number 3 Havanese Breed Challenge Leaderboard in NSW 2023.

To date since entering the show ring, Precious has accumulated:

44 Class In Group Awards
5 Class In Show Awards
1 Runner Up Best In Group

She became an Australian Champion at only 7 months and one week of age.

Precious (CH Beljala Precious Commodity) was a very good girl at the Hunter River A& H Association show today.

She was awarded a 9 point Best Of Breed and BEST PUPPY IN GROUP under Miss Louise Hickie (NSW).

She then went on to be awarded BEST PUPPY IN SHOW under Mrs Rosemary Duffy (NSW) .

We had a fabulous start to the 2024 show year at the 4 Combined Northern Canine Committee shows held this weekend (12 -14 January) at Hillsborough Showground.

It was very hot and humid but also windy at times and it even rained for General Specials on Sunday. Of course the wind always picks up when the Havanese were due to enter the ring and for photos.

On Friday night under judge Mr John Burgess (Qld) Chase (GRAND CHAMPION Beljala Game Set And Match) was awarded dog challenge, Best Of Breed, a lovely RUNNER UP BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP and BEST AUSTRALIAN BRED IN GROUP) against a very strong field of high quality dogs.

Precious (AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION Beljala Precious Commodity) continued on her winning ways being awarded:

Bitch Challenge, Best Of Breed and BEST PUPPY IN GROUP on Saturday morning under Mrs Glenda Goller

Bitch Challenge, Best Of Breed and BEST PUPPY IN GROUP on Saturday afternoon under Mr Stephen Schwerdt (SA).

Bitch Challenge, Best Of Breed and BEST PUPPY IN GROUP on Sunday morning under Mrs Lynn Harrison (SA).

Precious was awarded 3 out of 4 BEST PUPPY IN GROUP awards for the weekend bringing her career award totals to 37 classes in group, 4 classes in show and one Runner Up Best In Group and she is only 9 1/2 months old. We are very excited to see what is in store for this little girl.

We only had three shows this weekend at Hillsborough for the Maitland and Kurri Kennel Club.

It was very hot on Saturday with gusts of wind at times and we are thankful for a day off on Sunday with predicted temperatures of 35 degrees.

The results were spread across our team this weekend.

Chase (Grand Champion Beljala Game Set And Match) took out two Dog Challenges and two Best Of Breeds.

Eddie (Champion Beljala Limited Edition) was awarded one Dog Challenge and one Runner Up Best Of Breed.

Precious (Champion Beljala Precious Commodity) won three Challenge Bitch Challenges, two Runner Up Best Of Breeds, one Best Of Breed and two BEST MINOR PUPPY IN GROUP awards.

Another great weekend for Precious (CH Beljala Precious Commodity - pending) at the 5 shows at Hillsborough - three Northern All Breeds Kennel Club and two Newcastle Toy & All Breeds Kennel Club.

It was very windy and on Sunday we had torrential rain.

However she put her best foot forward and was awarded:

5 out of 5 bitch challenges
4 out of 5 Best Of Breeds (2 X 9 points and 2 X11 points)
1 Runner Up Best Of Breed
And
4 out of 5 BEST MINOR PUPPY IN GROUPs
And
1 BEST MINOR PUPPY IN SHOW (official photo still to come).

Bringing home another 47 points.

Her tally for the year so far (since July) is 27 Classes In Group, 4 Classes In Show and 1 Runner Up Best In Group.

Ten years ago this phenomenal little fur person was born.

He has managed to keep his youthful appearance and still does not have a grey hair in sight.

He has been a source of great joy and love from the moment he joined our family.

Known by several aliases such as LBD (Little Black Dog), the Supervisor, Havanese Show Team Manager, Sh*T Ted, just to name a few, Ted has been my shadow every minute of the day that I am at home. When I am not at home he mopes by the front door waiting for my return.

He catapulted us on an incredible adventure back into showing.

We love this little dog to the moon and back.

HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY TEDDY BEAR!!!! I hope we can share many, many more!!!

Another sunny but windy weekend of shows for the three New England Celtic & All Breeds Kennel Club and one Uralla & District Kennel Club shows.

The kids did well with Precious being the star of the team.

Precious (Beljala Precious Commodity) was awarded three out of four Best Of Breeds, one Runner Up Best Of Breed, all four Bitch Challenges, three BEST MINOR PUPPY IN GROUP awards and one BEST MINOR PUPPY IN SHOW award.

Grandfather, Chase (GRAND CHAMPION Beljala Game Set And Match) was awarded one Best Of Breed, three Runner Up Best Of Breeds, all four Dog Challenges and one BEST OPEN IN GROUP award.

Mum, Jojo (CHAMPION Beljala Jumpstart My Heart) was awarded four Reserve Bitch Challenges.

The weather at the two Newcastle Toy and Terrier shows was DEFINITELY NOT conducive to showing coated breeds (34 degrees and wind gusts up to 59km / h).

Nevertheless the Beljala kids pulled out all stops and did us proud.

Chase (GRAND CHAMPION Beljala Games Set And Match) was awarded two Best Of Breeds, BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP and then converted that to RUNNER UP BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW.

Precious was awarded one bitch challenge, one reserve challenge bitch, BEST MINOR PUPPY IN GROUP and then onto BEST MINOR PUPPY IN SHOW.

Jojo was awarded one bitch challenge and one Runner Up Best Of Breed.

At just six months and one day old, and her first shows being shown against the big kids, Precious (Beljala Precious Commodity) had a brilliant weekend at the three Novocastrian Ladies Canine Association shows.

Out of the three shows Previous was awarded two MINOR PUPPY IN GROUP awards, two Best Of Breeds (against two much older and mature males) and three bitch challenges.

Her grandfather Chase ( Grand Champion Beljala Game Set And Match) came away with two dog challenges and three Runner Up Best Of Breeds.

Baby Precious (Beljala Precious Commodity) had an outstanding weekend at the five DogsNSW Northern Region Inland and Tamworth KC shows.

The weather was challenging at times with bitterly cold and windy conditions on Friday but becoming sunny as the weekend went by.

Precious was awarded 5 out of 5 BABY PUPPY IN GROUP awards and one BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW under Ms Judith Oliver (VIC).

Grandfather, Chase (Grand Champion Beljala Game Set And Match) was awarded 4 out of 5 Best Of Breeds, one Runner Up Best Of Breed and a RUNNER UP BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP, also under Ms Judith Oliver.

Father, Eddie (Champion Beljala Limited Edition) came away with one Best Of Breed and 4 Runner Up Best Of Breeds to his father, Chase.

We had a great weekend at the six Newcastle Winter Spectacular shows.

Chase (GRAND CHAMPION Beljala Game Set and Match) was awarded the six Best Of Breed and Dog Challenge awards on offer.

Jojo (CHAMPION Beljala Jumpstart My Heart) was awarded the six Bitch Challenges and one Runner Up Best Of Breed.

Eddie (CHAMPION Beljala Limited Edition) was Reserve Challenge Dog at all shows and Runner Up Best Of Breed at five of the shows.

The star ⭐️ of the team was Precious (Beljala Precious Commodity) being awarded three of the six BEST BABY PUPPY IN GROUP AWARDS.
