After my mini stroke in July and breaking my back in August, today marked my first barrel race back. It feels like just a month has passed, but it’s been quite the journey! Even though I walked the pattern, it’s a victory because I never gave up! 💪
I’ve also welcomed a new partner—Dizzy! She’s had her challenges (toothaches are no fun for anyone), but with some care, we managed to trot home from our novice run. A horse partnership is like a marriage—full of compromise, tension, and plenty of love.
A big shoutout to the incredible women I met today who were there with words of encouragement. And a massive thank you to the committee for putting on such an amazing event!

Woohoo I did it, I got on and rode Dizzy. Yes it was just at a walk and I am hella happy with it because 5 weeks ago I may not have been able to do this.
