This delightful gem had her first big girl groom today. Macey is one of our future breeding girls and lives an extraordinary life with the Park family. Macey’s family is incredibly committed to her ongoing training and socialisation. She has attended dog school since 3 months of age and offers endless loves, kisses and companionship to her humans. Macey has lovely tight hips and has passed all preliminary breeding screening. Motherhood is still years away for Macey, so for now she gets to enjoy being a puppy and relish in all the opportunities her humans provide for her. A sincere thank you to Jude for being such a phenomenal guardian to this girl.

The ACS is currently running a raffle that's open to all members of Australia, and the best part is you don't even need to own a cobberdog! The prize is an $800 grooming table! Tickets are $25 each with all funds being utilised to run Australia's first ever Community Cobberdog event in June, 2025. More details about the community event to come.

What is a guardian home?
Guardian homes play an important role in our ethical and responsible breeding program. Breeding prospects are carefully placed into their forever home at around 9 weeks of age, allowing them to grow and bond with their forever family; however, the dog remains owned and contracted to the breeder for a set amount of time. Pending all health testing, the guardian dog will periodically return to us for mating/breeding. When the dog retires from official breeding duties, it is desexed and lives out its best life with the forever family.

Being a guardian dog owner offers a mutually beneficial arrangement between the owner and breeder.

Access to High-Quality Dogs: Guardian owners receive a prospective breeding dog, one with exceptional genetics, at little to no cost compared to purchasing a puppy outright.

Contribution to Breeding Programs: Guardians play a vital role in improving the breed by providing a loving home for a future breeding dog, supporting the breeder's long-term goals.

Close Partnership with Breeders: Guardian owners gain access to breeder expertise, resources, and ongoing support for the dog's care and well-being.

Enriched Dog Ownership: Dogs live in a home environment and enjoy all the perks of family life.

Rewarding Experience: Many guardians find joy in being part of a purposeful program that promotes the health and quality of Australian Cobberdogs.

The ideal Guardian home we are seeking is:
- Within a 2 hour drive of Bendigo
- Ready to welcome a beautiful puppy into their home between March - December of this year.
- A person or family who is committed to loving and caring for the puppy/dog for the duration of its life
- Willing to socialise and appropriately train the puppy (including a full course of puppy school plus ongoing obedience training)
- Prepared to feed a high-quality raw diet
- Living in a home with a fully fenced yard
- Able to regularly attend to the dog's grooming needs
- Willing to teach basic obedience/commands (sit, stay, walk, leave it, etc) and attend puppy training school
- Able to spend at least 3-4 hours with the pup every day, especially in the first twelve months of life (this would suit someone who works from home or retirees)
- Is willing to have the puppy indoors and around the family. She/he will sleep and spend plenty of time indoors around the humans
- Provide all veterinary care as required (except care related to breeding)
- Attend to regular parasite prevention (flea, tick and worming control)
- Is willing to sign a contract.

Being a Guardian is truly rewarding; you will be the inevitable owner of an exceptional puppy who will bring you endless joy and unconditional love, at a significantly reduced price.

We are thrilled to announce the highly anticipated pregnancy between Nellie and RD Amaretto "Alfred" 🐾💛. This pairing is extraordinarily exciting, combining exceptional genetics, outstanding temperaments, and all the beautiful Australian Cobberdog traits you know and love.

Both Nellie and Alfred are shining examples of health, temperament, and love—qualities we are confident will be passed on to their puppies. Pups will all have light density, straight fleece coats and will mature to be large mediums. Nellie and Alfred both have lovely rose pigment noses and creamy, caramel coloured coats. This is very exciting news for our breeding program and upcoming puppy owners.

This litter is fully reserved at this stage. The ultrasound showed a medium-large litter size, so watch this space.

Happy birthday to our beautiful Nellie/Walter: The Sequel litter.
Born effortlessly over just three hours, these beautiful pups were the second and final litter born to Nell and Wally.
Despite their cheeky antics, I have no doubt these pups have brought endless love and belly laughs to their humans. We have some VERY exciting announcements coming up. Watch this space.

We are -so- thankful we retained this girl for breeding. Tilly lives an ideal life with the Rowell family and ticks all the boxes:

Tilly will be mated early 2025 and we expect that all pups will be large mediums.

DC Lady has the sweetest face. She was one of the two girls we retained for breeding from Nellie and Walter’s first litter, almost two years ago. Lady has undergone all health testing and we hope to share some VERY exciting news with you all in January. Our wait list is currently full, however, vacancies do arise from time to time so keep an eye out on our social media.

We’ve been a little quiet over here at DC headquarters, so I thought it was timely I provide you all with some updates. First and foremost, my sincerest apologies for being a little absent of late. Rest assured lots of very exciting things are happening in the background, so read on to find out more!

- Two of our breeding girls are currently in season and will be honeymooning with their prospective partners over the coming few weeks. All pups will be large mediums/small standards and will be creams caramels, and reds.

- As an ACS registered breeder, all of our breeding dogs have undergone DNA testing, joint scoring, health evaluations and temperament assessments. Breeding dogs are assessed by a practising veterinarian annually and inbreeding (father/daughter, mother/son, first generation relatives, etc) is not permitted.

- All of our upcoming dogs will have lovely light density, genetically straight coats.

- We recently experienced the disappointment of an unsuccessful mating. Unfortunately this happens when we are working alongside Mother Nature, who often has other plans. Whilst we were devastated with this outcome, we know that nature overrules all else when it comes to reproduction.

- We have a very busy 2025 planned (4 litters). We are tremendously grateful for the patience our waitlist applicants have shown us. I assure you it’s worth the wait when you have one of our precious puppies in your arms.

- In addition to the usual hamper of goodies our puppy buyers are gifted, I am also now including a 12 month subscription to the ACS Community Hub (which I will personally pay for). This is an incredibly exciting opportunity where subscribers will have access to a range of discounts, member perks, training videos, advice from some of the world’s best and most experienced cobberdog breeders and much, much more!

- Without giving too much away, we have some very exciting news to share over the next few months. This news will propel our breeding program to even greater heights. Stay tuned!

I am a proud breeder member of the ACS, the only not-for-profit registry who is taking active steps to formally have the ACD recognised as a purebred (with a focus first and foremost on animal health). Our founding committee is completely voluntary. Every puppy sold by an ACS breeder is provided with a legitimate certificate of registration showing the dog’s lineage and authenticating that the puppy is a genuine cobber.
It’s a privilege to be working with breeders of such a high calibre from around the world. 🌍
