BARC and the City of Greater Bendigo are committed to continuing to provide discount cat desexing opportunities for our community.
While we do have several programs available, we are currently seeking residents from our FIVE TARGET SUBURBS where we have identified that unowned cat populations are the greatest.
If you ....
🏠Live in Kangaroo Flat, Golden Square, Heathcote, California Gully or Eaglehawk.
🐈Have rescued an unowned cat from the street, or are feeding a cat from the neighborhood.
🪪Have a concession card and/or a support worker.
Then you may be able to get $20 cat desexing, microchipping and registration!

Dear Purrs People,

We want to share this post with any one of our followers who may be feeling like they have room for one (or two!) more cats or kittens in their heart and home. Ingrid's Haven is a no-kill shelter and Ingrid herself is unwell. We can only imagine the pressure on Ingrid and her volunteers to continue running this facility, especially at this time of year. Ingrid's Haven is in Broadford (not far from Seymour).
A new cat or kitten would be the perfect Christmas gift to yourself, and each year after....

Important Information

Hi all our amazing supporters

We have unfortunate news that Ingrid has had a stroke and is currently in rehab hospital.

Currently the Haven is in caretaker mode while we wait for Ingrid to get through her rehab and after that long term decisions will be made.

We are currently not accepting anymore cats as our amazing Volunteers are currently working so very hard to ensure the smooth running in Ingrid’s absence.

We will be having an adoption drive in the new year and we are hoping to rehome as many cats as we can during this time to ease the burden on Ingrid while she recovers.

Please keep Ingrid and the vollies in your thoughts at this time

It's Dot's Sweet Sixteenth Birthday today!

Our in house Chef whipped up a gourmet Seafood Parfait Birthday cake and Dot was quite happy to partake.

All of the Purrs feline guests sang Happy Birthday ( in secret cat language), and Dot will spend her Birthday evening celebrating in style at Purrs.

💚 Meet Bonnie 💚

Isn't she adorable!!

Bonnie is looking for a new home and family.
Bonnie is staying with us at the moment and she seriously is the most darling little cat.
Bonnie is a gentle, sweet, slightly timid girl until she gets to know you. She's very quiet and her favourite possessions are her little toy mouse and her cardboard scratchy post.
Her most favourite thing to do is sit on her person's lap - it is the highlight of her day cuddling up in front of the fire or the TV.
She loves having a suitable, gentle feline companion for company so will suit a family that is looking for a second cat.
She has only ever been a house cat and is totally inside trained so there is no worry about training her to suit the local council regulations to stay inside.
She is not used to dogs.
Bonnie is roughly 2.5 years old.

Everybody, meet Luther!

Isn't he a handsome man!

Luther is in a sad situation right now and we are asking for your help.

Luther's elderly Dad passed away earlier this year. His elderly Mum is now going into a residential facility. She cannot take him with her.

Luther must find a new family who will love and look after him.

Some information from his family:
Luther is a Seal point Siamese
9 years old.
Neutered.
Vaccinated.
Crossed eyes - no illness.
Indoor Cat, no contact with other Animals
No behavioural issues but quite shy
1 person attachment cat, very affectionate
Loves nothing more than sitting on someone’s lap for hours, so would be ideal for an older person seeking companionship.

Zeke has chosen Purrs for his holidays for a number of years and has always been an exemplary guest.
He is 8 years old and sadly his owner cannot look after him anymore.
