MEET THE TEAM: Clare!

Clare is one of our newest vet nurses here at Spring Gully Animal Hospital having joined our team last year after completing placement with us. She is currently studying for her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and has been an amazing addition to our team.

Why did you become a veterinary Nurse?
After working in the hospitality industry for over 10 years, I felt that I needed a sea change.
I’ve always had a deep care and compassion for my own animals, but I wanted to 1 – be able to provide better care for my own animals and 2 – ensure other people get the best care for their animals.
I decided to study at Bendigo TAFE and completed a certificate in Animal Studies II & III, loved what I was learning and studying so much that I continued onto the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

What is your favourite thing about working at SGAH?
Where do I start? I’m constantly learning and seeing something different every day!
Being able to work with colleague’s that share the same compassion towards animals makes me proud to be a part of the team at SGAH.

Do you have any pets of your own?
I have a little house panther, Angus and a 200L fish tank full of Guppies and Bristlenose Plecos.

Fun fact about you any hobbies?
I love being creative and making things!
Watercolour painting, little woodwork projects, growing and propagating plants.
I’m currently training Angus to have his teeth brushed every night, it’s been a fun but adorable challenge.

MEET THE TEAM: Annabelle!

Annabelle is one of our newest vet nurses here at SGAH. Annabelle is currently completing her Cert IV in veterinary nursing. After doing placement with us last year we were lucky enough to welcome Annabelle to our team and she has been an amazing addition 🤩🐾

The questions are:
- Why did you become a vet nurse?
I’ve always had a strong love for animals and looking after their wellbeing and found this was the best way to live out that passion.

- What is your favourite thing about working at SGAH?
Working with an amazing team who are always up for a laugh. They have made me feel very welcome to the clinic!

- Do you have any pets of your own?
Yes I have two cats, a Cornish Rex called Phoenix and a domestic short hair named Dexter.

- Fun fact about you/any hobbies?
My favourite hobbies are anything that involve art, I love to create things in my spare time (clay art, sewing, Lego, painting)

A long overdue Meet The Team! 🩺

Introducing Dr Pia - one of our fantastic vets here at Spring Gully Animal Hospital 🐾

Pia completed a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at The University of Melbourne in 2002 graduating with First Class Honours. She has undertaken further post graduate study through The University of Sydney completing Distance Education Surgery in 2007 and Distance Education Sonology in 2010.

She has worked as a general practitioner as a full time and locum vet in many clinics throughout Melbourne, Perth and the UK in the last 18 years. In fact, she originally started her career in Bendigo back in 2003!

What is your favourite thing about working at SGAH?
- The awesome team of people!

Do you have any pets of your own?
- Tooby (2B) the cat
- Olive, Jasper & Tully the labradors
- Andy the standy (standardbred horse)
- Thoroughbred racing horses

Do you have any hobbies?
- Mountain Bike Riding
- Going for dog walks (with the lab pack 🐶)
- Horse riding
