Teach your dog to HOLD and OUT before beginning any formal retrieval training.
Most dogs will naturally chase the toy due to their prey drive, but when possessive behavior kicks in, they may not bring the toy back. Even if they do, they might drop it too soon before you can touch it.
By teaching them to HOLD with a strong grip and to OUT confidently, you can take your fetch exercises to the next level.

Had a really successful day at the Obedience and Rally trials at the Bendigo Dog Obedience Club today! I had the pleasure of watching the teams in person, and everyone did an excellent job, with some learning along the way. It was a fantastic day, and my daughter Rose cheered everyone onโeven doing a little ribbon dance at the end.
Thanks Bendigo Dog Obedience Club for putting on such a great day and it was lovely see Zali & Co with their amazing selection of items for dogs.

I always teach puppies and beginner dogs the fundamentals of "Stay" correctly and instruct the owners to trust the process. "Stay" requires technique and patience so the dog is solid and successful when bringing in the 3 Ds: Distance, Distraction, and Duration.

We had to say goodbye to our gorgeous boy Doug today.
It's been one of the hardest days of my life. I feel incomplete without Doug, as he's been my partner in crime for the last 11 years. I'm sharing this news as he may have inspired you along the way as he has inspired me. We learned so much together, and I could never repay him for bringing me along on his journey.
