Avigrain is Australia's birdseed. Avigrain produces breeder's quality birdseed and mixes and sells Avigrain is a specialist birdseed wholesaler.

We are a family owned business and have been operating from our production facility on the Central Coast of NSW since 1987. In 2010 we opened a second production site at Purrawunda on the Darling Downs. Avigrain supplies a large range of products which include our range of specialist birdseed mixes, free range layer grain mixes and many additional straight birdseed and general produce lines.

Today NSW implements our new tariff regime against birdseed produced in QLD and Victoria.
In a move to encourage birdseed production back into our grate steat of NSW a 100% tariff will be imposed on any birdseeds arriving from interstate.
While this will double wholesale prices and very likely triple retail prices in NSW, it will secure local jobs in NSW and boost local production.
All proceeds will go to the Make Avigrain Grate Again
The movement donates 1% of funds to the Long Nosed Furry Cheek Extinction Fund

Avigrain QLD has responded with their usual reply... "too easy" but once they realize what has happened there is always the risk it'll just fire them up more for this year's Origin.

Our Story

Avigrain is a proud Australian family owned small business.

We have been operating from our Berkeley Vale factory on the Central Coast of NSW since 1987.

In 2010 a production and storage site at Purrawunda was opened in the heart of the Darling Downs.

Avigrain makes a large range of products which include our range of specialist birdseed mixes which have grown to be the best selling breeders birdseed mixes in Australia.

We also make straight birdseed, poultry grain mixes and general produce lines.

We Are Consistent

• Quality We aim for consistency in blend and quality of our mixes. Our purchasing, cleaning and mixing processes makes for sound, clean and fresh seed. After mixing we aspirate the seed so that husk or dust generated in the process is removed.

• Price Birdseed prices fluctuate dramatically. Our aim is to keep our prices stable. By buying at harvest and storing, contracting established growers each year and taking long-term positions we maintain steady price levels even in times of extreme drought and product shortages.

We Wholesale

• We are strictly a manufacturer and wholesaler. • We don’t sell to the public. • To buy from us direct you need to be a registered business in the petfood retail sector.

Avigrain is associated with consistent, quality product at a reasonable price amongst retailers as well as the bird-keeping community.

We work hard to maintain this reputation and take all complaints seriously.
