🐕 Doggy Arthritis 🐕

As the cooler months are upon us, it is important that we start to look after our more 'mature' canine family members!

There are so many options available now to ensure we not only help to provide pain relief to these (mostly!) senior pets, but also remain proactive in keeping joints happy and healthy before more extensive treatment plans are required.

I have the BEST clients!!!!
On Wednesday I got to not only give cuddles to a family's brand new gorgeous Jack Russell girl, Coco, but then they also gifted me this incredible home produced honey and homemade honey cookies!!!!
I am so lucky to have such amazing clients!!! I, and my family (especially the kids!) appreciated these gifts so much!

Hows your Wednesday going?
I got to start my day with cuddles with these gorgeous Jack Russel X Chihuahua babies!!!! They were so cute and just wanted to snuggle!!!! All passed their health checks with flying colours and had their vaccinations and microchips like little champions, all ready for their new families next week (I think a few are still available for loving forever homes!).

Meet our Berri puppy class trainer, Laura!

Laura emigrated from the UK back in 2020, where her passion for animals started. You may also come across Laura at the Riverland Dog Club, training her young German Shephard, Bear. Laura also attends Gill’s Canine Coaching to keep her updated on the latest puppy class training techniques. Gill also runs our Renmark puppy classes.

One of the most common questions I get asked about is arthritis and hip dysplasia, especially in the colder months. This is a terrific quick run through. Always get your pooch (or even cat, yes they can get it too!) checked out if you think they may be affected by hip dysplasia or arthritis.

Nearly 4 weeks ago I met these cuties for the first time! Now tomorrow I get to give them their first vaccination and microchip (and lots of cuddles!). Just the cutest Border Collie puppies, their Mum has done an awesome job with them (and their human Mum too!).

Some great tips here to keep your furry friends happy and healthy!

Protecting your pets from the cold ❄️ is important to keep them healthy and safe during the colder months. Here are some tips on how to protect your pets:

Provide shelter🏡: Make sure your pets have a warm and dry place to sleep. If your pets are outdoors, provide a sturdy and well-insulated shelter that will protect them from the cold winds and rain.

Keep them warm🔥: You can keep your pets warm by providing them with warm blankets and clothing. Dogs can wear coats or sweaters to help them retain body heat.

Limit outdoor time 🕝: During extremely cold weather, limit the time your pets spend outdoors.

Protect their paws 🐾: Cold weather can be tough on your pets' paws. Make sure to wipe their paws after they come inside to dry them off. You can also buy boots for your pets to wear outside to protect their pads if needed.

Provide proper nutrition🦴: Your pets may need more calories in the winter to keep their bodies warm. Make sure to provide them with proper nutrition and plenty of fresh water.

By following these tips, you can help keep your pets healthy and safe during the colder months.

As so many of you know, Sophie was one of my best friends and I was so lucky to go through Vet School with her. Just a reminder to be kind to your vet, any vet, and all humans! I have the BEST clients and patients, I'm so very thankful to each and every one of you!

Today, we proudly launch our national campaign "We're Only Human", urging people to be kind to vet staff.

Our goal is to help prevent su***de in the veterinary industry which is all too common - on average one vet takes their life every 12 weeks.

Posters like this will be displayed in vet clinics across Australia, asking people to take a pledge in support of vets.

What proud parents these are! And rightly so! They have looked after their gorgeous babies so well. I had the pleasure of giving all these cuddles this week (as well as their vet check, vaccination and microchips) and they all passed with flying colours!!!
