Lots of paddock shuffles and a few fence repairs this weekend after those very strong winds brought the neighbours trees down across the back boundary fence.
Here are some scruffy youngsters having a few hours rug free. No further progress on the foaling front.

BD Milton. He's grown so much this year! Technically 3 years old but a January foal. These big ones grow a bit slower than the rest so it's best to take them nice and slow.

It is rare to get such perfect winter weather on a Sunday so of course we had to spend it putting the first ride on the "Unbroken" Clydie mare. Look out Ellie(phant), you might have to earn your keep!

Putting the finishing rides on TM Willow and TM Havana as part of their 2 year old preparation to be riding horses.
The 2 year old prep included several off property outings and ground work clinics and finishes with between 5 and 10 short rides before being turned out again to grow.
Most of the handling happens on weekends and spans between December through to Easter.
We extensively handle our young stock so nothing they face later in life is a surprise to them.
TM Willow is by Minnamurra Alamazi who stands at Minnamurrapark Equestrian Centre. TM Havana is by Hatero De Pd.

Wishing Emma Russell Eventing the very best of luck and fun tomorrow at PSI Dressage and Jumping with the Stars. TM Levi is competing in the 5 year old pony performance class for a second year running, and we are spewing we can't be up there to cheer them on. (Young horse commitments at home)

Rio. So hard getting photos in the 4 month old stage. Theyre usually climbing on top of you. Frankie had a sleep over this weekend to make it easier to do a 2 day Clinic.
Fun and easy with all the horses in one place!

Florrie and Rio came in for a leading session today. No photos of Rio as Megan had him and she's the camera girl. Neither of these foals are for sale this year.

Another big weekend with the horses. Lex was out at a 2 day Clinic and both Havana and Willow also went along for a walk around. One on each day. We really had fun taking them all out. We are delighted with how well Willow and Havana are coping in the big wild world. We also bumped into TM Atlas showing how fancy he is for the instructor. We hung out with lots of friends. So lucky to have such a strong supportive horsey community

This weekend we spent our time at a horsemanship clinic with Cody Rawson-Harris with Havana. We watched and participated for two days and at the end of the weekend we were able to put the first ride on Havana.

It's been a while since I took pictures of BD Milton, but here he is. Milton is now a 2 year old and starting to grow into himself. He is a Clydesdale X QH c**t and currently stands around 15.3hh. Milton is not for sale

The highs and lows of a new year. Havana almost ready for a rider, Willow having ride 2 (first at trot) and going well. Florrie has a sunburnt nose and Vinnie has done an absolute number on herself. Rio having another leading session and now we put all our energy into Vinnies wound care.

It's been a busy week at Otway View. Willow is having her 2 year old prep and handling everything like a pro. We like our 2 year olds to experience all the things we expect of them as a riding horse before we turn them out and start again as 3 year olds. We find that horses handled well from birth take to the process easily and without stress. Willow is handling the dog in a rainbow Cape without incident.

TM Leviathan is now out and about with Emma Russell Eventing. Look at this sweet baby horse round today. Levi was clear SJ and XC with 70% in his dressage. Good Job Levi and Emma. For those interested Levi will be competing at DJWTS next Thursday in the Performance Pony class! Come along and cheer him on!!

New paddock feels. TM Amazing has grown into a very pretty yearling. Sorry everyone. She isnt for sale. She is currently 14.1hh so on track to make her expected height of 16hh+
