The Hatch Farm - Port Macquarie

These two piggies are twins who were born on the farm and hand raised in our house yard with us! When they were piglets they learnt that if they rolled over they would get belly scratches! No wonder, studies have found that pigs are smarter than dogs! 🐽

We are so proud to be working with Hastings Landcare Inc and Local Land Services NSW to restore local flora and fauna habitat throughout The Hatch Farm across a long term project. Unfortunately there was extensive clearing prior to our purchase of the land on the acreage closest to the Maria River. So far we have been collecting seeds off the farm (in the uncleared bush areas) for the Landcare nursery to grow, fencing off corridors to limit access from our farm animals and, and started mass planting of local trees using the seedlings from our first seed collections (and some other local species which we have not been able to collect seed from). We have been learning a lot about the lands history, bush regeneration, and about our native flora and fawna. We can’t wait to share our progress and to post about what we have found!

It’s official - we are Hipcamp finalists for Best in NSW for the SECOND year in a row! We can’t thank all of our campers enough for choosing to stay with us on all of your adventures. We have been dreaming up some exciting new ideas for The Hatch Farm and we can’t wait to share our vision and handiwork over the next 12 months - stay tuned! 🏕️🪵🐷🐔🐮🐴🐰🚜

One sweet girl and two cuddly boys ready for a family to spoil them, the cutest Cavalier King Charles Spaniels we've ever seen but we are biased of course 💜💙💚🐶🐶🐶 we will be passing through Sydney next week if any pups want to hitch a ride 😉
