⚠️ URGENT PSA: PARVOVIRUS ALERT IN THE AREA ⚠️

We have been alerted to cases of parvovirus in our community. This is a highly contagious and often fatal virus that primarily affects unvaccinated dogs and puppies. It spreads through infected faeces and contaminated surfaces, including soil, shoes, and even human hands.

Signs of parvovirus include:
❗ Severe vomiting
❗ Bloody diarrhoea
❗ Lethargy and weakness
❗ Loss of appetite
❗ Fever

How to protect your dog:
✅ Ensure vaccinations are up to date – the C5 vaccine protects against parvo
✅ Avoid dog parks, beaches, and public areas if your dog is not fully vaccinated
✅ Wash hands and disinfect shoes after walking in public spaces
✅ Keep puppies indoors until they’ve had their full course of vaccines

If you suspect your dog has any symptoms of parvo, please call us immediately on (02) 4342 0200 before bringing them in. This helps us take precautions to protect other pets.

Vaccinations save lives. If your dog is due for a booster, book an appointment with us as soon as possible. Stay safe and spread the word!

🐰 Attention Rabbit Owners: Protect Your Pets! 🐰

We love our little rabbits, and we want to keep them safe and healthy! ❤️ Central Coast Council has announced a wild rabbit control program starting on 3 March 2025, which includes the release of the Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV1-K5), also known as Calicivirus, at multiple locations across the Central Coast.

While this virus is aimed at wild rabbits, pet rabbits are also at risk and need protection! 🛑🐇

🔹 We have the two-strain rabbit vaccine in stock! 💉
🔹 This annual vaccination protects against RHDV1 & RHDV2

❤️‍🩹 Rupert’s Remarkable Recovery! ❤️‍🩹

Meet Rupert, the tiniest fighter with the biggest heart! At just 8 weeks old and 1.5 kg, he came to us with a massive 6-7 cm abdominal hernia—huge compared to his tiny size. But this little champ wasn’t going to let that stop him!

Two weeks ago, we performed surgery to repair the hernia, and today, Rupert is back to his happy, playful self. Seeing him bounce into the clinic for treats and cuddles, surrounded by his brothers, sisters, and cousins (a joyful, chaotic puppy whirlwind!), is just the best feeling. 🥰🥰

We’re so thrilled to see Rupert thriving—what an incredible recovery!

🐾 Meet Our Sweet Mumma Cat & Her Two Adorable Kittens! 🐾

We’ve recently saved a lovely little feline family—a beautiful, doting mum who has stolen all our hearts. She’s not just looking after her two baby kittens; she’s also decided the staff are her babies too! She follows us around, gives us head boops, cleans us, and supervises our work like a true queen.

In about 4–5 weeks, her two tiny bundles of fluff will be looking for their forever homes. They’re growing fast, learning to pounce, and already showing off their adorable personalities. 🐱

🕺Say hi to Ziggy! 🕺

The sweetest Shar Pei who came in for an eye check today. This adorable boy is a big fan of cuddles and treats and was ready to pose for his close up photos while he was here!! 😍

Ziggy was such a sweet loving boy for his visit and his eye check went smoothly for him. We are pleased to say with eye ointment his eyes will be feeling great in no time! We are so grateful we could help Ziggy feel his best and we can't wait to see him in the future for more snuggles!

Meet Maple – the Sweetest Soul! ❤️🐶

This beautiful girl stole our hearts! Maple, a gorgeous Boxer with the most happy-go-lucky personality, never let anything hold her back—not even her permanently lolling tongue! Due to a condition that meant her tongue always hangs from her mouth, she has a signature look that makes her even more lovable.

Did it stop her from getting treats? Absolutely not! Maple has a knack for winning over everyone she met, charming her way into endless cuddles (and snacks) from anyone lucky enough to see her. She is pure joy wrapped in fur!

🐕‍🦺 Our Gentle Giant, Danzig! 🐕‍🦺

Danzig came in today for an ear check and a mani-pedi, and what a sweetheart he was! This big, beautiful boy soaked up all the cuddles, and luckily for him, Dr. Charlie was able to diagnose an ear infection and get him started on the right medication for a speedy recovery.

With those puppy-dog eyes and a heart full of love, Danzig charmed the whole team. We can’t wait to see him again (hopefully just for cuddles next time)!

Remember the two adorable pugs we saved via caesarean 14 weeks ago? 🐾 Well, they are now ready for their forever homes!

This is what their amazing foster mum had to say:

There is 1 black female and 1 fawn male purebred pug puppies looking for their perfect family.

✨ Vet checked, vaccinated, wormed, and microchipped
✨ Raised indoors, toilet-trained on puppy pads
✨ Playful, well-socialised with other dogs, and love being handled

They are now 14 weeks old—older than usual, as they were held until after Christmas.

Each puppy will come with a puppy pack, including food, puppy pads, and their vaccination card.

🌟 Could You Be This Gorgeous Girl’s New Family? 🌟

Meet our sweet black beauty! 🖤 Suspected to be around 1 year old, this young lady is the most smoochy and loving cat you’ll ever meet. Despite living outdoors for most of her life, she’s never lost her affectionate nature.

When she first arrived, she had a large ulcer on the inside of her lip, but after extensive medical tests and treatment, she’s FIV/Felv negative and now healthy and ready to start her new chapter.

Sadly, she’s been in our care for several months, and while we love having her here, she deserves the comfort and love of a forever home. She’s truly the nicest girl and will make the perfect companion.

🎓🐾 Puppy Preschool Graduation! 🐾🎓

A huge round of a-paws for our latest puppy preschool graduates: Teddy, Teddy, Koda, Lantus, and Poppy! 🎉 These clever pups have worked hard over the past few weeks, mastering their manners, social skills, and most importantly, having a ton of fun together.

⚠️ ALERT: Deceased Ducks Found at Woy Woy ⚠️

We’ve received reports of ducks found deceased along the water’s edge in Woy Woy. Our dedicated vet, Dr. Charlie, has volunteered his time to collect the birds and obtain samples, which have been sent to the DPI for testing.

One possible cause is avian botulism, a bacteria that thrives in warm, stagnant water. It is zoonotic, meaning it can pose a risk to humans and pets if mishandled.

What You Should Do:

• Do not touch dead or sick birds.
• Report sightings to wildlife authorities or to vet clinics.
• Keep pets on leashes and away from the water.

🦠 Botulism produces toxins that can harm wildlife, pets, and people. We’ll update you as more information becomes available. 🦠

😻Meet Spud, our little miracle kitten!😻

At just 10 weeks old, Spud presented to us with a concerning mass in his abdomen. After some careful exploration by our talented vets, Dr. Charles and Dr. Elicia, an ultrasound revealed a rare and unusual condition: a perirenal cyst.

A perirenal cyst is a fluid-filled sac located around the kidney, a condition typically seen in older animals—not tiny kittens like Spud! It’s very rare to find such a cyst in such a young feline, which made Spud’s case all the more extraordinary.

Thanks to the skillful hands of Dr. Charlie, a delicate surgery was performed to successfully remove almost the entire cyst. Spud’s recovery was nothing short of amazing! As soon as he was feeling better, he was back to his charming self, demanding cuddles from our wonderful Nurse Ebony.

Spud is now thriving, and we’re so proud to have been part of his journey. This little guy is a reminder of why we love what we do.

This sweet girl came in for her spey through one of the incredible rescue groups we work with . Savannah, with her stunning coat and big, curious eyes, stole the show (and our hearts) in no time! 🐾

She especially loved all the cuddles from our amazing nurses Gabby and Usama—two pairs of hands she clearly deemed purr-fect for head scratches and chin rubs! 😻
