🎓 PUPPY PRESCHOOL IS BACK! 🎓

Our five week program includes 4 puppy preschool sessions and one day out at doggy daycare with Maraboon Pet Resort! Puppy preschool is an amazing opportunity for socialisation, basic command training and learning about important topics to help raise a happy, healthy and social pup!

Well done Copelan for being the first nurse to get through our new “Vet Nurse Bingo” training program! Cope had to successfully complete a number of nursing skills under Veterinarian and Senior Nurse supervision so each skill could be marked off.

Maraboon Vet Surgery takes pride in our training and mentoring programs! Our vet nurses are passionate about learning and growing their nursing skills and what a better way to make it fun and engaging by turning our nurse skills training into a bingo game!

What is Beransa?
Beransa is a monthly injection to help alleviate pain associated with osteoarthritis. This injection contains a monoclonal antibody which targets nerve growth factor, a pain receptor in the joints. By blocking these receptors we block the pain messages from being delivered to the brain, thus helping with pain relief and inflammation in the joints.

ARE YOUR PETS PROTECTED AGAINST THE DEADLY PARALYSIS TICK?

We are seeing an increased number of tick paralysis cases in Central Queensland! It's important to stay up-to-date with your pet's tick and flea prevention, especially if living or travelling to tick-prone areas. Paralysis ticks are most common on the east coast of Australia, and whilst more cases are seen in warmer months, paralysis ticks are found year-round.

If you are travelling this holiday season (even if you are only venturing as far as Rockhampton/Mackay regions), make sure you have given your dog or cat their tick prevention, especially important for those travelling to northern beaches where there is a substantial and active tick population. We encourage pet owners to read our most recent blog post on tick paralysis, including how they affect your pet, symptoms, veterinary treatment and prevention.

Meet the team 👩🏻‍⚕️🐾

Copelan is an Emerald local and has been with Maraboon Vet since 2020! Copey is one of our amazing vet nurses and works from both our Emerald and Blackwater clinics!

She is currently working towards a Certificate IV in Vet Nursing. Her favourite aspect of vet nursing is surgery, emergency, wildlife cases and the rural run days!

Cope has a 3 year old blue heeler named Yeti! He is the best boy who loves swimming in the dam. When not at work, Copelan loves fishing, water skiing and hanging out with her mates.

Yesterday our special boy Ollie came in for an appointment and we were all obsessed to say the least.
1 whole year ago he was just a baby in a little gray hoodie now he’s a big boy and we couldn’t be happier seeing him grow!

🐈🐈‍⬛ CAT VACCINATIONS OUT OF STOCK 🐈🐈‍⬛

Unfortunately, the veterinary industry is experiencing a national shortage on cat vaccinations. Our clinics are now officially out of stock and cannot administer any more cat vaccinations. Our suppliers have let us know that F3 vaccinations should be back in stock by July 2024. Still no TBA on FIV vaccinations. Our team will keep you all posted.

In the meantime, if your pet is due for a vaccination, please give us a call to get your cat/kitten(s) added to the waitlist and we'll be sure to give you a call once they arrive.
