Last year, the South Australian Tourism Commission and SAFM Adelaide worked together to promote some of the amazing experiences families can enjoy in the Mid Murray area, and they chose us to provide a fabulous houseboat holiday.

The lucky winner Krystal, and her gorgeous family had an amazing time on Scamp over the weekend enjoying all the Murray has to offer - beautiful scenery, tranquil lagoons, stunning sunrises and sunsets, starry night skies and incredible bird life.

It was a pleasure to welcome them to our very special backyard!

I am still saying Happy New Year, and just realised we are nearly a 1/3 of the way through January! It has been fabulous to welcome so many people over Christmas and New Year, and lovely to have 3 crews of Victorians join us in the last few weeks as well.

P.S.Scallywag, our great 2 bedroom boat is our only houseboat still available for Easter as well, so get in quick if you would like to spend 17th - 22nd April relaxing on the river!

If you are looking for a special escape, we still have some availabilty, including REFLECTIONS( 8 berth 4 queen bedrooms) which has just become available again for NEW YEAR commencing on the 30th Dec for 4 - 7 nights!

After a spectacular night of rain, lightning and thunder, our power at the marina and the house has just been restored after 20 hours. Thank you SA Power Networks for your hard work. No need for candles and a saucepan of water on my gas stove for a cuppa tonight!

Ofcourse our crews on the river last night did not have to worry about that at all - with batteries, inverters, generators and some solar panels keeping everything ticking over nicely!

Thanks to the Hookins crew for this great review - but even better is how much fun they had tailoring their weekend to suit them all!

You don't have to cruise far ( in fact we have some crews that spend their holiday moored here) and you then have the chance to visit Burk Salter Boutique Wines and the Blanchetown Pub!

"What an absolutely fabulous few days with the family, 9 adults + an 8mth old, on the luxurious “Daydreamer” from Griffens Marina Houseboats Blanchetown.

The “Daydreamer” has everything onboard that you could possibly need.

The ‘fridge/freezer and kitchen storage was ample for all of our supplies. Plus there is a huge outside esky.

The evenings were a little cool but the reverse cycle system helped to keep all of us, especially a baby, nice and warm.

The lounge/dining/kitchen area is a good size, but there is also a large outdoor covered area upstairs with a table and chairs, sun lounge chairs and a relaxing spa, which we also made very good use of.

Instead of continually cruising up the river, we decided to break up our time with different experiences.

We spent some time cruising the picturesque river, mooring up along the cliff face to enjoy the stillness while having a meal.

We enjoyed an evening around the campfire toasting marshmallows.

We spent some time moored on the beautiful bank of the Griffens Marina, and then driving 3 minutes to “Burk Salter Wines” where we booked an hour tour on their restored 1927 Chevrolet Truck.
There was also an outing by some to the Blanchetown Hotel, which is the oldest continually operating Hotel in the Riverland region.

And some of us chose to burn up some calories paddling the 2 person kayaks up and down the river.

We enjoyed family meals around the large dining table and played board games, sang, laughed and had an amazing time.

Totally recommend a Houseboat holiday with Griffens Marina in Blanchetown. "

Now is the time to start planning an amazing winter houseboat holiday. Thank you to Hello SA for the great shoot a few weeks ago (our segment starts at 2.04) and check out the amazing opening shots and ofcourse the fabulous Swan Reach Hotel. Winter - think camp fires, foggy mornings, calm days and starry nights!

A hot weekend was the perfect excuse for Ed, Shelley and the girls to jump on board for a cruise on Reflections. Thankfully this week's crews have much nicer temperatures to enjoy!

Happy long weekend! May your weekend be as colourful and cheery as my gorgeous little grand daughter Hattie welcoming crews!

There is nothing more relaxing than quiet time on the river...today's afternoon meditation session brought to you by Dr Duck and co!

The lagoon next to the marina still has water in it from the flood, and the colours tonight made it look rather magical! You just never know what beauty you will see on the Murray.

Still plenty of water around but at least the old cleaners shed is slowly emerging, albeit with a few more ventilation holes in the roof. Looks like the life buoy that was left in the rafters wants to have a peek at what's happening on the outside now too! Can you spot it?

It's coming up quickly now! Don't think I will be walking on the high road next to the boat ramp tomorrow...

What a glorious blue sky this morning. A lovely start to the week with a calm and sunny day. River levels are still normal at Blanchetown too!

What a great sight on a Sunday morning. I love the sound of paddles churning through the water! On such a crisp, calm day you could hear her for ages.

It is pure magic at Blanchetown tonight! Wish I was on a houseboat holiday too😉
