Central Western Dressage Group NSW

The club runs Official & Non-Competitive events around 6 times each year, we also run training days. We always welcome visiting riders and new members.

The CWDG pride themselves as being one of the oldest established dressage clubs in NSW with a long history in 2014 the club celebrates its 50 Year Anniversary. The club predominately services Dressage enthusiasts from the Bathurst, Orange, Blayney & Cowra areas however we welcome travelers at many of our events. Many of our competitions are currently run at the Blayney showground which is not only

central to our membership base but also offers a scenic environment with lots of facilities. We currently have one sand arena at the venue with plans in place to develop a further two. The club prides itself in its long history and has run many high level events such as NSW Young Rider & Pony Dressage Championships, the NSW State Championships and for the past six years the now infamous Dressage with Altitude CDI.

As the year comes to a close, we’d like to thank our wonderful riders, sponsors, judges, and volunteers for making 2024 a truly unforgettable season and for your continued support of our Club. From polished tests to personal bests, you’ve filled our arenas with dedication, joy, and plenty of shining moments.

We hope your holidays are filled with happy horses, joy, relaxation, and perhaps a few peaceful moments in the saddle.

May your 2025 be filled with perfectly executed transitions, straighter centre lines and plenty of well-deserved blue ribbons. Here’s to another year of camaraderie, good riding, and shared passion for dressage!

Although it was a small turnout, the relaxed atmosphere allowed for meaningful conversations with our wonderful members over a delicious Christmas lunch. Your presence made the day truly special. We look forward to more gatherings like this in the future.🥰🤩🥳

🌟 What an Amazing Bit Fitting Clinic! 🌟

Thank you to everyone who attended our Bit Fitting Clinic on December 6 & 7 with the incredible Jocelyn West. It was a fantastic two days filled with learning, collaboration, and making meaningful adjustments to enhance our horses’ comfort and performance.

Jocelyn’s expertise and passion for bit fitting truly shone through as she helped riders better understand their horses’ needs. From identifying subtle tongue and contact issues to exploring tailored bit options, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

📣 A big thank you to those who joined the free lunch Q&A session—it was a great opportunity to share knowledge and connect with like-minded riders!

🙏 Special thanks to our wonderful host Linda Krogh for letting us use her beautiful property, Jocelyn West for wonderful expert knowledge she was able to share with us all, and the team at Central Western Dressage Group for making this clinic a success. With the beautiful facilities and warm atmosphere, it truly felt like a supportive and productive environment.

We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to bring riders and experts together!

🎄 CWDG Arena Familiarisation & Christmas Lunch 🎄

Join us as we celebrate the festive season and wrap up another amazing year!

🗓️ Date: Sunday, 15th December 2024
📍 Location: Marshalls Lane, Blayney Showground

What’s Happening:

✨ Ride & Familiarisation:
Practice in the Indoor Arena and Outdoor Arena with your horse/pony.
Get them comfortable with the indoor experience or practice your tests in a fully marked outdoor arena.

✨ Christmas Picnic Lunch:
Time: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
CWDG will provide juices, tea, coffee, cooked chicken, and ham.
Bring a Dish: Please bring a salad, dessert, side to share etc.!
If the weather’s too hot, we’ll move to the pavilion or the office for shade.

Who Can Join:
Riders must be either a CWDG or EA member to participate in arena familiarisation.
Thinking about joining the club? No horse to ride? Come along for lunch and meet the team!

⛈ CWDG Club Championships – Postponed to 2025⛈

Dear Riders,

Whilst our rainwater tanks and fields will be delighted, it is with great disappointment that we announce the postponement of the Mullion Produce Pets & Saddlery Central Western Dressage Group Club Championships due to the forecasted heavy rain and predicted thunderstorms. Your safety and the welfare of your horses and ponies are our top priority.

Unfortunately, we are unable to reschedule the event this year as we’ve already used up our allocated dates from Blayney Council for 2024. However, we are working hard to plan a new date early in the new year and will keep you updated as soon as it is confirmed.

💲Refunds will be processed via Nominate shortly.

We appreciate your understanding and patience and look forward to bringing you a fantastic championship event in 2025!

Due to the forecasted heavy rain, there is a possibility that the Mullion Produce Pets & Saddlery Central Western Dressage Group Club Championships at Blayney Showground this Saturday, 30th November, may be cancelled.

🚨 Important Note:
No official decision has been made yet. We are closely monitoring the weather conditions and will provide a confirmation early Friday morning.

We understand how much effort and preparation goes into these events and are hopeful that the weather will cooperate. Please stay tuned for updates via email, our website, and social media.

What a fantastic end to a fabulous clinic with the wonderful Robert Harrisson Schmerglatt.
