1 to 1 session with aloy the border collie, unfortunately aloy had previously been attacked by two off lead dogs, which resulted in her now showing defensive aggression and reactivity around other dogs. With some helper dogs Odin ( my dog ) and Jasper a clients dog of mine we showed aloy that not all dogs are going to hurt her. She did so well ! To the point of even playing with Jasper the retriever mix. Her owners will be given a training plan to follow and keep up with training 😊 🤎🤎🤎

Helper dogs like odin are so important in the rehabilitation of certain dogs and they really play a huge role. I personally think every professional dog trainer should have their own instructor dog, it shows off your own hard work training your own personal dogs and what you have achieved with them and for the client they can see that the dog has a pretty high level of training and can expect that they can get there dog to that level if they really put the effort in.

These are some things to look out for when hiring a dog trainer;
Do they have there own dogs who are trained at a pretty high standard ?
Are they qualified ? And have done extensive learning such as attending seminars, courses and learning from other good dog trainers, you can always be better.
Are they fully insured ?
Do they have before and after videos ?
Do they have good reviews ?
Do they have good communication skills ?
Are they patient with you and respectful of certain things your not comfortable with ?

Always do your research !

Welcome ash !

Ash is our newest member to join the Rogue K9 Team!
Having completed her Cert IV in Dog Training and Behaviour, Ash has a wealth of knowledge and is very experienced in working with all breeds and sizes of dogs.
Her area of interest includes working with herding breeds such as Kelpies, Border Collies, Cattle Dogs, etc. Teaching Recall, Impulse Control and overall Engagement.
Ash owns 5 dogs herself, including a Golden Retriever, Dalmatian, 2 American Staffy’s and a Kelpie; all of which are very social and highly trained dogs.
Ash is here to help create a better bond and relationship between you and your dog through Rogue K9 Training!

A few of the beautiful faces I’ve worked with lately before I got so sick 🤒

For all my current clients I will be rescheduling you back in over the next few days so please bear with me ( there’s a lot ! ) this means my current clients will take priority and new clients may not be able to get a spot untill the end of august/ beginning of September for training.

Boarding is still going ahead as per normal and I’m still taking new bookings for boarding 😃

Congratulations to all the graduates! Bronte the bull terrier, ed the chi and Barry the pug all completed there 4 week gone rogue obedience class. They did an amazing job ! Each dog had there own issues. Bronte the bull terrier had no engagement and was very easily distracted by other dogs and people, while she was very friendly we needed to teach her to become more neutral and that we did ! She now has much better focus around dogs people. Ed the chi is very leash reactive and will lunge and bark at other dogs. We worked a lot on this in class and by the end of the 4 weeks Ed was doing so much better and a lot less reactive ! Barry the pug was a very bad leash puller and reactive on leash. We worked hard on his loose leash walking and reactivity and he is now so much easier to manage and walk.
While our class does have set behaviours we work on, we also modify it sometimes to suit the individual dogs we get in and really help the owners with there dog’s behaviour problems.

Our next lot of classes is starting on the 13th august and we still have spots available !

Meet Louie the Labrador, don’t let those puppy dog eyes fool you, Louie has quite the bite history with people, he is extremely territorial of his house and has some fear aggression. We are working with Louie and his owners to help overcome this problem. 🙂

Welcome .the.aussieshepherd and sergeant the Rottweiler x Staffy, both puppy’s started there puppy program today 🐶 both pups are super switched on ! And very fun to work with. Both these puppy’s will be getting the best start to life and we will be focusing on building a solid foundation and teaching the owners how to live with and train there dogs. Congratulations to all the gone rogue graduates 🎓 I had so much fun doing this class and I’m so proud of my clients, they all put in the work and we seen so much progress over the 4 weeks. Some of these dogs were reactive to other dogs/ people and have made huge improvements 🥰
