Itβs been a busy few days on the farm, Iβve been holding my breath on multiple occasions in the past 48 hours. We had a maiden doe kid Sunday night 10 days before her due date at 135 days. If I trusted google, theyβd require possible incubation and oxygen and even tube feeding resulting in zero sleep for me. Hitting the ground late at night, not yet ready for the world, they were bundled up in a basket and came inside to stay warm and slept beside my bed to see what the new day would bring, thankfully that was a small appetite and therefore mumβs colostrum. Not strong enough to feed off mum on their own weβve worked as a great team to get to the point mum and bubs are figuring it all out with a bit of help. First suckle on their own off mum tonight. Still a ways to go but the stars are aligning. Grateful is an understatement π©βπΎππ
