🐶Important Notice for Dog Owners in Boonah & Kalbar

We want to inform our community about an increase in cases of dog cough affecting dogs in the Boonah area, particularly those who have been walked at the Duggie Flats loop. To prioritize the health and well-being of all dogs, we’ve made the difficult decision to close a week early for our Christmas break. Additionally, we’ve decided not to participate in this year’s Boonah Christmas Parade. While we know the parade is a highlight for many, keeping our dogs safe is our top priority.

🐶Symptoms to Watch For:
- Hacking cough (sounds like they’re trying to clear their throat)
- Fatigue
- High temperatures (Check your dog’s ear temperature by placing your finger at the entrance of their ear canal. Knowing their normal temperature helps you notice any changes.)

Symptoms typically last 2–3 days, with coughing most common in the mornings and evenings. Older dogs, puppies, and unvaccinated dogs are at higher risk.

🐶What You Can Do:
- Monitor your dog closely for symptoms.
- Isolate any dogs showing signs of illness to prevent the spread.
- Keep your dog’s vaccinations up to date, especially for kennel cough (Bordetella).
- If you’re concerned about your dog’s health, consult your veterinarian promptly.

We understand how disappointing not only for us and our dog owners but also our dog living community that love seeing the dogs in the Christmas parade, but the health of our dogs comes first we will still attend with our dog bus in is best Christmas attire. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to keep our furry friends safe and well.

Great to have Dexter back in. Was a little stubborn today but we worked through it and got there in the end 🐾🌻 I truly love this boy, despite him getting grumpy at times. Very grateful to his dad, Max, who drives an hour and a half for me to groom him. Very humbling 🙏🙏
