HENDRA - why should you bother vaccinating?? We often get asked this question - there are two really solid reasons.

1. in the rare instance your horse is exposed to the Hendra Virus you will not have to go through the devastating consequences of dealing with a Hendra infection.

2. If your horse is not vaccinated and shows signs of colic, respiratory or nervous disease we cannot do any invasive treatment until the clearance test is run - and that takes 24hrs!!!! Really distressing for everyone when prompt treatment would be allowed if the horse is vaccinated. Not our rules, Workcover says so!!

SO MAKE IT EASIER FOR US TO PROVIDE PROMPT MEDICAL CARE FOR YOUR HORSE BY MAKING SURE HENDRA VACCINATIONS ARE UP TO DATE

It has been brought to our attention that there may be several unconfirmed cases of Kennel Cough in the area. We would like to provide some information regarding this disease to you can protect your canine companions.
Kennel cough or canine cough is a contagious respiratory disease that can affect dogs of any age. The condition is caused by multiple different viruses and bacteria that can be easily spread. The classic sign of kennel cough is a hacking cough (sounds like something stuck in the back of their throat) but can also include sneezing, lack of appetite and reduced activity. In most cases, kennel cough generally resolves over a few weeks However, in more severe cases, can progress to life threatening pneumonia. The best way to prevent serious illness is annual vaccination.
If you are concerned that your pet is showing signs of kennel cough, do not hesitate to call us on 07 5463 1339
