Thank you for everything you do behind the scenes for our fur babies. The late nights, early mornings, worry over unusual cases, fielding calls from distraught owners (especially staff who's dog has eaten a Tim Tam at 10:30 pm), staying calm in the face of adversity etc.
There is not enough chocolate or coffee in the world to thank you all.

Talking all things PINKEYE
Pinkeye (infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis) is a painful bacterial infection in cattle which can result in permanent blindness.
Flies, dust, sunlight and grassy material are the main predisposing factors to infection so most outbreaks are seen during summer/autumn.
The symptoms of pinkeye vary from just a watery discharge to a blue swollen eye as it progresses. In severe cases the outer layer of the eye can rupture which results in vision loss. Early identification and treatment is the best way to ensure successful outcomes!
The main treatment for pinkeye is a long acting eye ointment plus an eye patch (as demonstrated by some of our handy clients below!).
If you are concerned about pinkeye in your herd, please do not hesitate to call the clinic on 5463 1339

We love it when a sad story has a happy ending. Panda tragically lost her own puppies on Sunday 😪 butshe is proudly showing off her new adopted family who desperately needed her to mother them. Good girl Panda💕🥰

Little Trixie enjoyed a quick drink before getting some cuddles from the staff at our Boonah Clinic💕.

Colostrum is the thick, creamy, yellow coloured milk that is vital for maternal antibodies. If a mare drips milk before foaling, there is a risk that the newborn has not received this important protection. A IGG test is a quick and effective inhouse test to ensure your foal is healthy. Book this for 24-48 hours post foaling on 54631339.

Our Story

Our principal Veterinarian, Dr Melanie Fedrick has been with the practice since 1999. Having grown up on the family Dairy Farm at Mt Alford, Melanie has a thorough knowledge of the district and its local veterinary issues. Dr Emily Kaminski, has completed extra studies in Equine and companion animal Dentistry and Acupuncture and has a special interest in equine performance. Dr Gemma Calle has extensive mixed practice experience and an interest in companian Animal medicine and surgery. Dr Colleen Buckley has recently joined us and is a very experienced veterinarian who has worked thought QLD . Our facilities at 16 Elliot Road, Boonah are purpose built for Veterinary Services, with fully equipped consulting rooms, companion animal surgery, Digital Radiology and In house Pathology services. We also have fully enclosed cattle yards with undercover Vet Crush and an Equine Crush that allows us to perform dentals and other procedures. We also provide on farm consultations for all large animal's - servicing from Carneys Creek and Maroon in the south to Rathdowney, from Aratula to Rosevale and Harrisville to Milbong. Our Reception and Nursing staff have been with the practice for many years and provide caring support to our patients. We welcome new clients and encourage people to come and see our facilities for themselves.
