Two of our retirees, both are 23yo and are being carefully maintained on pasture, hay and a vitamin and mineral supplement to ensure they are getting all the nutrients they need.

One has trouble keeping the weight on, the other has trouble keeping it off, can you guess which one is the 🦛 ??

Spelling Agistment
Racehorses, Performance Horses, Youngsters needing time to grow, all are Welcome!

We can not underestimate the benefit of a restful and relaxing holiday for horses and humans alike.

Our Spelling paddocks are located away from the comings and goings of horses in work to provide a low stress environment, but are still visible from the house and or arena/stables. We have quality equine pastures that are regularly maintained and rested and each horses' individual needs can be catered for in regards to rugging, feeding etc.

Our property is located an easy 6.5km's off the Princess Highway for easy access for transport.

Ewan's View is first and foremost a Dairy & Beef farm and therefore pasture and pasture maintenance is a very high priority. Since purchasing this farm almost 4 years ago we have introduced regenerative farming practices to improve soil quality and health and in turn, improve the health of our animals.

This means that horses are grazed on quality equine pasture blends, we use only natural biological fertilizers and very minimal chemical use. Periodically throughout the year we use our different animal species (Cattle, Sheep and Goats) to aid in w**d and pasture management in the horse area and paddocks are also given ample rest to recover between grazing's.

One of the Services we offer is - Long Term Retirement Agistment

Everyone deserves a peaceful retirement and for that reason, retirees are matched up with a likeminded friend or friends that enjoy a similar paced life.

Our retiree paddocks are situated in a quite area of the farm, away from the comings and goings of horses in work, but still visible from the house and or stables/arena.
As part of our service, all retirees are monitored daily and are brought in for once weekly for a groom and condition assessment, where a photo is taken and will be sent to the owner.

We have experience catering for the needs of aging horses and ponies and are happy to work in with Vets and other professionals to ensure our elderly friends continue to live their best lives. Some retirees might need feeding and or rugging at particular times of year and we are happy to accommodate these changes as required.

Going away on holidays can be a stressful time for horse owners 😨 it is not uncommon to hear things like “what am I going to do with the horses while we are away?” or “Who can I get to feed my horses?” 🤔

Well, worry no longer.................... Ewan’s View Equine Services offer short stay holiday agistment 🎉 so you can go away stress free, knowing that your horse is being cared for by experienced horse people and is happily having his/her own relaxing little holiday at the same time 🏖

All horses are cared for as if they were our own, we offer shared or private paddocks or yards depending on your horses requirements, all with horse safe fencing. We can supply feed or we can feed your feed, we are happy to accommodate rug changes morning and night, pats and cuddles are 100% FREE and just part of the service, along with photo updates if desired.

Limited places available, so book early to avoid disappointment!

We can also offer at home care, where we can visit your property to feed and check horses (and other animals) by negotiation.

As well as our ‘short stay care’, we also offer longer term agistment, including horse spelling and full retirement care. Please get in touch for more information.

Ewan’s View is an equestrian facility that has been many years in the making, it has been a gradual progression of planning and creating, to get to the point that we now feel we can offer an exceptional agistment service to the equine community in South West Vic.

Here is a little about my background. 👋 My name is Bec Rundle, I have been riding, training, coaching, and caring for horses for 20+ years. I was ‘that’ kid that would go to bed every night wishing I could own my own horse, but with non-horsey parents, it took quite a bit of convincing and pocket money saving, before my sister and I eventually purchased our first pony. As a kid I attended Pony Club, spent weekends trail riding and competing in all disciplines. We didn't have our own property back then, so our horses were on agistment, it was the most wonderful experience being surrounded by like-minded people and always having horsey friends to hang out with or ride with.

I have been extremely lucky to have some great coaches and mentors over the years, firstly through Pony Club, but then with private lessons and working in the performance horse industry and that is where I developed a passion for dressage. In my early 20’s I completed my EA NCAS level 1 General coaching/horse management certificate, and taught riding privately and at PC/HRCAV rallies, whilst training and competing in dressage with young horses that I had started. Since moving to SW Vic and having children, competition and coaching have taken a back seat, however we have continued to breed and train quality horses and have a small string of horses we are proud of and hope to get out competing in the near future. I am very lucky to now get to share my passion for horses with my family, my 2 girls who are almost as horse crazy as me and sometime even my son likes to get out in the bush for a ride.

We feel very lucky to now own this property on the edge of Ewan’s Hill, to be able to develop it and see our vision take shape, whilst enjoying the ever-changing outlook over Mt Noorat, Mt Elephant and on a clear day seeing glimpses of the Grampians. We have designed our property with 'happy horses' in mind, so that their needs can be managed effectively in a calm and efficient way. Our paddocks are set up so that horse movements are easy, Spelling or Retired horses are paddocked in a separate area to the horses in work so that disruptions are reduced and all paddocks are easily monitored and viewed from the house and or the stables and arena.
