To our valued clients at BVS we would like to wish you a wonderful and safe festive season with your family, friends and furbabies.

This year has been another extremely busy year and to recharge our staff for the year ahead we will be having a few extra days off between Christmas and the new year.

We encourage anyone that is on long term medications to reach out in the next few weeks to ensure that you have enough to see you through. We are very busy and if your medication is due for a review please call to secure an appointment as they are filling fast.

This year we will close on Friday December 20th at 5pm and reopen on Monday the 6th of January at 8.30 am.

If you need veterinary advice or attention during our closure period you can reach out to

Central Veterinary Emergency on 0413898331

They will be available from 6 pm Friday until 8 am Monday on weekends and also on any of the public holidays during this time.

Central veterinary emergency practice out of McIvor Road veterinary clinic, 29 Michael St Bendigo. Please call first to arrange an appointment if needed. We hope you don't have to call them but appreciate that they can allow us to have a break and spend time with our loved ones over the holidays.

Outside of weekends and public holidays please reach out to your next closest clinic.

Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in 2025.

Fiona, Grant, Kathy, Madeleine, Kate, Lily and Sidney.

6 weeks ago "Terry" the tawny frogmouth was brought into us after being hit by a car. After lots of care and tending to his wounds we were very happy to release him back out into the wild tonight. He has grown a lot in this time. He flew off and found a nice branch over the water.

Just a reminder that we run by appointments. So please always ring ahead. Our staff are wonderful at triaging and if there is an emergency we will always try our best to rearrange and fit you in. Sometimes our vet may be out of the clinic on a farm call. Ringing ahead also allows for you to find an alternative in an emergency if there is no vet on site.

Most importantly we ask that you respect our staff. We understand that some situations are stressful but we remind you that we are always trying to help. Abuse and rudeness will not be tolerated ever.

Tomorrow (Thursday 17th of October) the office will not be open until 9.30am. If you require urgent attention please call the regular number 0354552031 from 8.30 am.

Last night we had our second snake bitten animal for this season present at the clinic. Just a reminder to be vigilant and what signs to look for. Always remember if you are unsure give us a call and we can talk you through it.

Hello Boort community.
We have been up to the hospital to check on Stewart the swan this morning but it looks like he has made his way back to the lake and is happily paddling around and enjoying this lovely Boort weather.
3 weeks ago we did have to have him in at the vet clinic for a check up as he had a stomach upset and some diarrhoea. We ask that the community please stop feeding him. He is able to forage food for himself and although you feel you are helping this can lead to him being unwell. If you do feel he is unwell please call the clinic and we are happy to come out and assess him.
