Tara's passion and knowledge in the animal industry has lead her to establish Bowen Dog Training, offering courses and private sessions locally.

🎓🌟 LEVEL 1 GRADUATION 🌟🎓

A BIG congratulations to our Level 1 Obedience team on your graduation!!!

This team was made up of a special group of doggies with 4 of them being newly adopted into their forever families!!

Whilst navigating their new homes and environments, this team of dogs and their caregivers have been learning new training skills, command work, socialisation and having fun together!

We also focus on educating owners on lead handling skills and routines, preventing unwanted behaviours and incorporating rules, boundaries and limitations into their homes and lifestyles.

Awesome work team!! You’ve been amazing and I have enjoyed watching your progression each week!! 🥳🎓🙌🏻🐶🐾

🐶🐾 PUPPY GRADUATION 🐾🐶

Congratulations to our team of puppies who have successfully passed their graduation!

So proud of all the support and dedication you have given your puppy’s and each other over the past 5 weeks as a wonderful team!!

We have learned about puppies and how a dogs mind works, behaviour modification in stopping mouthing, jumping, toilet training, thunder/storm reactivity, preventing separation anxiety and much more!

Training our dogs and their caregivers with guidance in automatic touch, sit, stay, drop, recall, lead handling skills and even heel work this time around!!

So many positive outcomes and it’s extremely rewarding as your trainer to see such amazing progress and outcomes!

Keep up your regular practice and use all your training tools and information when in and outside of the home and also in public spaces!! 🙌🏻 🐕 💜😍🥳

🎓 LEVEL 1 OBEDIENCE GRADUATION 🎓

Congratulations on your graduation!!

Over the past 4 weeks we have been working hard together to learn the foundations of training and starting to imprint strong command work with our dogs!

As a team you have been extremely supportive of each other and your beautiful dogs!! Learning many skills and encouraging each other to achieve the best outcomes for our canine companions!

I can’t stress enough the importance of training with our dogs and the consistency in practice that’s required for their learning and preventing unwanted behaviours in the future!!

So proud of you all and I’m excited to continue to watch your progress!!! What a fun time we had!! Well done 🙌🏻

🎓LEVEL 2 OBEDIENCE GRADUATION🦮

A huge congratulations to our Level 2 team on their graduation night!!

We have had a wonderful 7 weeks training together and sharpening our command work, impulse control, heel and loose lead walking, agility and so much more with our amazing dogs!! 🥳

The progress we have made as a team and individually is a credit to all your hard work and ongoing practice to achieve great success!!

A huge congratulations to our Puppy and Level 1 team on your graduation!!

Over the past 5 weeks we have enjoyed learning and training as a team to achieve wonderful success together!

Educating humans on the best practices to teach our dogs how to focus, command work, lead handling skills, the beginning of loose lead walking and building calm and confident dogs!

I can’t stress enough the importance of daily practice to imprint the knowledge and
understanding of what we have learned in class and putting it into practice out in the big world!

Repetition is the key to success with dog training and the earlier you start the process the better for our dogs overall well being and preventing unwanted behaviours from occurring.

It is essential to highlight the significance of early dog training and socialisation, commencing from puppy age or when bringing a new dog into your family.

Our mission is to empower owners with knowledge on successful positive reinforcement training techniques and integrating training principles into our daily routines.

As primary caregivers, we are accountable for our dogs educational development from the outset, instilling in them exceptional skills that will endure throughout their lives to create a calm and confident dog who’s primary focus is on their owners and not on distractions around them.

It is unrealistic to assume that dogs will acquire new skills without dedicated practice and expert guidance and I’m extremely passionate in helping people and their canine companions accomplish this success!

All ages and breeds are welcome (including behaviour modification) so reach out for more information as I offer classes, with new courses starting next week, and also private sessions.

🐕 🙌🏻 PRACTICE EACH DAY! 🙌🏻🐕

I’d like to share a helpful training tip with my clients and fellow dog lovers.

Integrate your training practices into your daily life by applying the skills learned through our training programs to reach your goals and strengthen the connections between you and your canine friends!!

Even during heatwaves (like what we’ve been experiencing) you can practice in the comfort of an air-conditioned space like we are here! Or pop your dogs lead on and do some indoor exercises that we’ve been learning at training. They will love you for it!

Here, my cheeky chickens are practicing their “drop stays” and impulse control, demonstrating the effectiveness of this exercise. I walk around and through them as an extra distraction and then release out of position for positive rewards!!

By having multiple dogs practice together, you can teach them to remain calm and focused during command training and reposition if one of them moves out of position and start the process again!
