My verse of the day was Matthew 7:7 NIV
[7] “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
It made me stop and think, I'd just come in from trimming last years GGG foal crop, Cassie (GGG's first foal), and pulling shoes on Sam (one of the horses Brooke piloted this last year, and won a fair bit on (owned by GGG)).
Today was also special because the new pad for my longterm house was cut, and we decided on a house to proceed with.
So, reading my verse of the day got me thinking...how far have we come! The day my mum, Brooke, and I (dad was still doing FIFO) were looking at blocks, mum had tripped over barbed wire, called my dad, and he told her his verse of the day, Matthew 7:7. With a new scoop of faith we pulled up to the next block, the one next door to ours now. As we were leaving, mum saw an old for sale sign at the front gate, had a look at the block (the back dam) fell in love, called the agent, and found out it was under contract. She asked to be informed if it fell through, but from memory, it was near settlement.
About a week later, mum got the call, the sale had fallen through. My dad flew in Wednesday night, and we watched the sunrise from the back hill Thursday morning. Obviously my parents made an offer, and we got the place...with one shed...half a shed.
That was mid 2018...7 years ago. Since then, we've established a facility, Brooke and I are both choosing careers we wouldn't have gone for in town, and we are breeding some incredible horses.
I just got to thinking, how would life be different if not for that verse? If mum had decided to just go home, instead of seeking? It's incredible how Gods timing works, because I don't think that verse was my dads by coincidence that day, nor was it mine today.
