Just having a RANT

I receive a SCAM/Phishing message daily advising that my page is set for deletion. It is getting beyond frustrating. SURELY If they can put an algorithm in place to limit my ability to post if I put up an ad for an animal OR if I send too many messages in one day OR if I join too many groups in a specific time period, or I post something politically contentious or what they believe is false information (seriously I’ve received temporary bans for all of these) and yet they can’t get their act together to immediately delete and block a scam message that I have been receiving for at least 6 months Daily!! The message doesn’t even change so they should easily be able to fix this. I’ve reported almost every one of them - no feedback no nothing. Facebook controls everything that legitimate users are doing, but don’t even look like they’re attempting to control non legitimate users. Sooooooo frustrating,

**UPDATED - despite our best efforts and round the clock care the little girl didn’t make it. She failed to to put on weight even with full supplement tube feeding. The vet suspects she had underdeveloped internal issues 😞

We welcomed our new litter Sunday afternoon. 🙂
I just wanted to share that for the first time in many many years we had a runt delivered in this litter.
Whilst there is always some variation in weight, our pups generally range from 180 - 230 grams at birth …. This little girl weighed in @ 122grams, she is a tiny little thing with a cleft lip (also a first for us) so is needing a little extra support, but at this stage is doing well. I am quietly confident that she will make it but figured a few extra well wishes for her along the way couldn’t hurt

9 DAYS to go until our final litter of Cocker Spaniels (for the foreseeable future) is born. Busy preparing and I nearly have everything ready. Outdoor area completed, just finishing off some stimulation toys. Of course she will whelp inside, and they don’t need any of that for a few weeks, but nice to have it all ready.

We have made the decision that our currently expected litter of Cocker Spaniels will be our last for the foreseeable future. My plan at this stage is to return to the show ring with our Chihuahuas and to expand their breeding program. We will transition this page over to the Chi’s over the coming months. Our existing Cockers will remain living here with us and we may consider more litter some time in the future, but for now we will be focusing our attention on the Chi’s :-)

Finally have some turf!!! New puppy toilet area is now finished, this will greatly assist with early toilet training ☺️

While we are having a break, we are doing some upgrades to our puppy area. Almost done with the new grassed area that the pups will be able to access much easer than before. Just waiting on the turf which apparently nobody carries at the moment . Hopefully grass will go in on Tuesday ☺️

I have just been advised that one of our pups from last year has been affected by seizures after commencing Nexgard treatments and wanted to pop up a warning. Almost all drugs have potential side effects and this includes those we give to our pets. Caution always need to be taken when commencing any medication with your pets, onset of symptoms are not always immediate so you need to monitor your pet for at least 2 cycles of the medication before concluding it is safe for your pet. It is important to note that the presence of side effects does not negate the benefits of the medications, and in the vast majority of cases they will be perfectly safe to use, but there is always the exception. That said, after having done some research it appears that there are a few medications that appear to have a higher rate of side effects than what I would consider acceptable risk, despite their risk factor being listed as low enough to be approved by the FDA for their use.
These medications include NEXGARD, BRAVECTO, SIMPARICA & CREDELIO
A quick google search of these medications reveals large numbers of people who’s pets have been affected by seizures after commencing their use and as such I would strongly advise avoiding these medications.
The affected puppies owner noticed the side effects and immediately sought veterinary assistance, puppy has since been removed from the Nexgard and at this stage is waiting for the medication to leave her system, fingers crossed that there are no adverse long term adverse effects.

Four flea and tick products may cause seizures, tremors, and lost coordination in some cats and dogs.
