Hydrotherapy is a safe and controlled form of exercise and rehabilitation. By exercising underwater, the weight of your pet is supported and this reduces the risk of aggravating joints or limbs. The water also creates gentle resistance to help strengthen muscles with minimal discomfort. Hydrotherapy helps to speed up recovery for post-surgical patients or slow down the progression of degenerative

conditions. It can also help with re-education of normal gait for spinal or neurological conditions. Hydrotherapy can reduce swelling, stiffness and improve range of motion. Circulation, cardiovascular fitness and endurance can also be enhanced. For pets that have acquired an injury or undergone surgery, this form of exercise can be implemented earlier and therefore significantly reduce recovery time.

Happy 15th birthday to our long term client Jerry 🎈 thanks to Jerry’s owners for bringing cake on his birthday, I’m not sure who wanted to eat it more, Phoebe or Jerry! We hope Jerry got his own delicious cake after working hard at hydrotherapy today.

Meme has been doing hydrotherapy for a few years now.

Hydrotherapy helps Meme with arthritis, and a cruciate tear which she unfortunately was not a candidate for surgery for.

Meme loves her fortnightly sessions and concentrates so well! 🐶

‘Steele’ the superstar ⭐️🏆

Lee Jamieson brought Steele, a beautiful 7 year old border collie, into us 5 weeks ago after a slip he had whilst trialing in Victoria in wet weather. He was lame in his right hind leg and very stiff through his ribs. 4 weeks of intense rehabilitation he goes and wins the trial at Agfest and has finished the season as Tasmanian top dog!! He now gets to represent Tasmania at the Australian champs later in the year and has the opportunity to try and qualify for the Australian team.
Wow what a pleasure it was to work with such a fantastic dog and we wish Steele and Lee all the best at the Australian champs.

🌟 Maisy 🌟
Maisy has been coming for Hydrotherapy sessions since July last year after being diagnosed with hip dysplasia.

Maisy originally started with two sessions a week and gained quite a few kilos of muscle! She’s now downgraded to weekly sessions as she has improved significantly, and no longer seems to have any pain. She even chases her brother around the back yard now and is now quicker than him! 🐾

Maisy loves to cool down with a sit in the water and enjoys her liver treats every time she comes in 💗🐶

💙Charlie💙
A beautiful 8 year old border collie who came to us 5 weeks ago with some lameness and pain through is lumbar spine, and having put on a few extra kilos in the past year or so he needed some extra help with exercise to get him feeling more comfortable and fitter again.
He has taken to the water beautifully and loves his sessions as long as mum is watching over him.
We are so pleased to have such a happy boy join us 😊

Meet Axel, a 1 year old border collie who came to us 5 weeks ago who had a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) meaning he had his head and neck of femur removed due to a subluxted hip joint. So he needed to build strength and muscle tone in his left hind leg to help him walk again. After just 5 weeks of hydrotherapy and lots of water play and walks at home too he is walking on all 4 legs all of the time and his muscle tone in his left leg is almost as good as his right now. Great effort Axel, well done! A few more weeks and he will have enough strength to run all day.
If your dog has had FHO surgery please get in touch today and see the great results that Axel has.

‘Elvis’ has quickly learnt where the treats are kept!
He is 3 sessions in and walks beautifully on our underwater treadmill. He has osteoarthritis and hopefully will be less stiff and sore in a matter of weeks once he builds up some strength, so far the warm water certainly makes him feel good following his session. Stay tuned to hear how he gets on over the coming weeks.

Have you ever thought is hydrotherapy suitable for my dog?
Why would I take my dog to hydrotherapy?

Well hydrotherapy for dogs can help dogs with arthritis and joint problems, recover from surgery or injury, weight issues, spinal disease, neurological problems and is very good for general strength and conditioning.

Young, old, big or small it doesn’t matter, hydrotherapy fits all!

Get in touch today or ask your vet about the benefits.

🐶Stihl🐶
A 13 year old husky who initially came to us 10 months ago with arthritis and struggling to get up and moving after long periods laying down. Not that we’ve cured her arthritis as this will be with her for life now but we have given her more strength and mobility to make everyday tasks much easier on her. She now jogs over from Pets Now Boarding and loves her weekly session. Look at those legs go! Well done Stihl 👏🏼

❤ Queen Elizabeth II was well known for her love of animals, and yesterday, their love for her was shown. Muick, Sandy (her beloved Corgi's) and Emma (her gorgeous black pony) stood grieved and sorrowed at the funeral of the person who showed them all the affection and care for many years.

Tomorrow, we will be closed for the National Day of Mourning in memory of our late Queen.

🐶Fudge and Barry🐶

These 2 bundles of joy came to us 3 weeks ago. Barry (7months) has shoulder luxation after an injury as a young puppy, which means he now has a leg length discrepancy; and Fudge (10 years) has bowed front legs, particularly his right, along with osteoarthritis.

They are both here to gain strength in their front legs to help them walk more evenly and with less pain. After 3 sessions they are both walking much straighter and putting full weight on their affected legs. A couple more sessions booked in followed by some at home therapy in the bath and now the weather is warming up in the river too, they will both be much stronger and happier for all their hard work.
