A tad wet here at the moment. With many trees down With the severe weather we have had. More trees down this afternoon and fence, all goats safe and secure.

The weather of the past week certainly has given the girls plenty of trees to browse on. Had all fences secure where they were until about an hour ago then more down over the fence and road.

How do you feed Bioworma ?
One of the recommendations of the recent report on worm control in goats was to improve it's palatability. I only have experience with the pure Bioworma and as the dose is so low (3 grams for a 50kg goat) it is not hard to hide it in the goats normal feed . Occassionally if being fed to wethers that only get hay then owners have to hide it in treats eg coating wet carrot slices. I do hear from new customers that their goats won't eat the Livamol with Bioworma.

Round 3 of the Sheep and Goat eID Project is now open!

Tasmanian producers can apply for reimbursement on eligible scanning items from 1 July 2024, until June 30 2025, or until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.

This funding supports sheep and goat producers, agricultural show societies, school farms, organisations that run rural livestock events, not-for-profit organisations, local government and mobile veterinarians by providing rebates for eID scanning equipment purchases.

There has also been an extension to the Round 1 funding closing date which will now close on 30 September. This will support facilities such as saleyards and abattoirs to install scanning equipment to prepare for 1 January 2025.
