Hey - well we did manage to have our little obstacle day after all. A couple of very happy Adult riders and a couple of super happy Junior riders made for a damned enjoyable and encouraging group. Such a chill group of horses too. Also had fun playing with my new Chrissy camera (thanks Danny) - enjoy the pics. Thanks for braving the weather guys we got super lucky.

So far weather is showing rain stopping in the morning (Sunday). I am going to be here anyway and will run a small group obstacle morning for anyone who wants to head over. Plenty of puddles for water obstacle training if we want to look for a positive!! Anyway - as I say I’m here anyway-ground not boggy just wet so will be walking only. See how we go anyway I won’t mind either way. Hope everyone enjoys the flush of feed we are going to get after this rain is finished 🙃

I know you’ve been waiting and I’m sure expecting this..bus YES I am sadly going to cancel BOTH Friday and Saturday 😭 I hate doing it especially while right now it’s not even raining but I know people need to organise themselves - as do I .
What I will offer though- is we will run one on this Sunday as it’s forecast for the horrid weather to be finished. So if you can give me an idea if you think you can join us on Sunday (so I can cater) - please let me know. Same start time etc.
Again apologies but I think you would have expected it. Take care everyone and hope to see some of you on Sunday 🤞🤩

Have been talking about this with a lot of my lesson clients lately.. where we pick something we want to work on as a focus and not try and perfect ‘everything’ at once.

One of my favourite Ray Hunt quotes, it’s so relevant to any person working with their horse. Take it slow, acknowledge the little tries, be present with your horse and enjoy the journey.

Short notice as time has just snuck on by…but our first obstacle days for 2025 will be next Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th January. Looking forward to seeing you and your beautiful horses again soon. The next ones after this will be Friday 28th February & Saturday 1st March. As usual cost of $35 pp including morning tea. 2024 comes to a close and as I sit here setting 2025 goals and take a rare moment to myself (more of these to come in 2025 it’s now written as a goal)…I am reflecting on how grateful I am for everyone who has come through our gates here at Together Horsemanship. I have loved welcoming each and everyone one of you, whether it’s been like minded clinicians (TK) or people whom have put their faith in me to help guide them on their path to building a confident and kind partnership with their horses. The pride I feel for having been part of your journey is great…and know that I don’t take that trust you put in me for granted. I have met absolutely amazing people this past year and love the community that we are all building as we share our joy of the horse and all the wonder that they bring to our lives. Let’s continue to find the kinder way Together 💚. Happy New Year - may 2025 bring you everything you hope for 🐴 🥰

And that’s it just like that we’ve had our last obstacle morning tea for 2024. How lovely to celebrate the end of the year and Christmas with another fantastic group of people. In each book Tanja has managed to combine easily read insights and information which shares her kind approach to horse training and communication. $120 for all 3 in the ‘Lessons from Horses’ series - or $40 for both Enlightenment and Perspectives and $50 for the newest one -Movement. Got this in an email this morning from Taree TAFE. What a buzz to have been studying again. Turned into some fun ‘Cramming sessions’ and Hands on Days at TAFE with the ever supportive, comedic study buddy Tanja Kraus Horsemanship . Thanks for the push when needed to cross the finish line. Also thanks to Rachelle Hinz for some study library time and also the amazing Adora from Taree TAFE. Never too old to learn - box ticked ..what’s next??👩‍🎓 😃

And just like that…plans are changed. Just sharing my past 24 hours with you guys…. For the past 4 weeks I’ve been wondering about my training for beautiful Queenie as we worked towards getting ready for this weekends Cowboy Dressage competition. Wondering if I’m not asking enough for her to improve - wondering if I should be listening more to her and not training so much. I decided to follow my gut with the fact that she was being ‘grumpy’…but then would ‘work through it’! Should I keep pushing and asking or should I be listening? She has no voice so no other way to tell me. Thankfully a highly recommended body worker was travelling through yesterday afternoon and I was able to snag an appointment for an assessment. With the float half packed ready to leave for the competition ….my thoughts were with my mare though and if the assessment was not positive then we would not be competing. So you guessed it..she has several sore spots that needed working on so then she will need a few days off working and then some rehab work in hand to help her muscles re build correctly.
The moral to the story is - please listen to your gut feeling if your horse is trying to communicate..they can only tell us something is hurting by showing us, and if we don’t listen carefully it can be confused as ‘bad’ behaviour .
No competing for us this weekend -but I’m heading up anyway to help out, support and cheer on friends, and also work on more observation hours to get closer to one day becoming a judge myself. Picture of the Queen all sport taped up 😩😍

Thank you so much to the ladies who attended our very first One Day Clinic held here yesterday 🤩
We had a few last minute dropped out so it was pretty intense almost one on one learning for those that did attend…I think we all needed the ‘de brief’ session at the end. 😅Some nice changes in both horses and riders and I feel like everyone left feeling a little more connected to their horses and also more confident. Lots of homework and exercises to follow on with. More of these days to come in 2025 for sure 🤩

Honestly guys how much fun was today’s obstacle morning ? After a very sad start…went out at 6.30am to decorate ready for Halloween celebrations…and that horrid storm
Last night wrecked havoc 😭. Danny came home from work early to try and do some repairs..but I decided that the wagon which has been ripped to shreds…actually suited the Halloween theme so I just added decorations (if life gives you lemons!!!) - new wagon cover to be added asap.
We had the most beautiful morning though - everyone celebrating their own personal

Our Halloween Obstacle days will be this coming Friday 8th and Saturday 9th November. Feel free to dress yourself or your horse up for our ‘creepy’ Halloween obstacle fun. Again I have some names already but please message me privately or comment so I can make sure we don’t have too many horses here at once and also for catering 🧁 ☕️.
