Winter with rats is always snuggly. Especially if you've got a few new litters to cuddle!
We've had three litters over the last few weeks and we can't stop staring at the absolute cuties. 😍

Our first litter is full of curly fur. Four adorable double rex babies!
The second is a sleek mix between whites, black and tan.
Or last litter is a standard one, sleek white babies with black blotches.

Dam: Hooded/DRex (hooded/DRex)
Buck: white standard (white standard parents)

It's a time of mixed emotions when all of the baby rats go off to their new homes. We've even got some travelling down to NSW this weekend! I can't wait to see what they get up to as they get older!! ❤️🐁👋

The last of our Double Rex babies has been reserved! These guys are so quirky, with they curly whiskers and hair-less style! I haven't worked with Rex's much in the past but have now put them in my list of favourite types.

We've got babies! 😱🐁 These guys come from our agouti male (Rattus) and our standard white female (Weiss). Both of the parents have standard coats and lovely personalities.❤️

Let me introduce Dad, he's name is Licky. (No, it's not a typo.) He's an affectionate little man who gives me a lick Hello every morning, so he got stuck with the name. 😅

This little male is certainly one-of-a-kind in our neck of the woods, We have an Albino Double Rex out of the Dec 2022 litter. 🐁

These guys are growing up so quickly! 😱❤️

These are three of the male pups in the latest litter and they all have rex genes, so their fur is oh-so curly (and sometimes sparse as they grow!) 😵‍💫
These boys (and their litter!) will be available in about 3 weeks. 🐁

🐁 RAT OF THE WEEK!! 🐁

This is Star. She's a hold back from our last '22 litter. Her silver coat colour took a little while to come through but now it's gloriously sparkly, hence her name. She's such a sweet girl who loves to sit on shoulders or bury herself in my hair! She has white paws/belly with a little white tick between her eyes. ❤️

DID YOU KNOW?

Rats are Crepuscular; meaning that they are most active at dawn and dusk. This is for a few reasons but primarily to avoid predators. Other Crepuscular animals include; some bats, jaguars, wombats, spotted hyenas to name just a few.

This is the newest mischief at 7 days old. Half are hooded, half are standard. We haven't sexed yet, we want Mumma to bond and feel comfortable first. ❤️

Welcome to Kiki's Rattery & Rescue!
We are located in West Brisbane, and our rats are part of our family. Rats make great family pets, and one thing we strive for is personality and temperament above quantity, so our girls only have a select amount of litters per year.

Also, we know that lives change so any rat that is surrendered to us will be treated with the utmost love and respect.
