Wow what a weekend. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting these wonderful ladies and their Wockers (working cocker spaniel)

This weeks dog sports feature is
Conformation show. Dog shows are held all around Australia, dogs are judged by specialist judges against their breed standard.

You earn challenge points at championship shows and work your way up to receiving the title of champion. This title is retained for life and the initials Ch. become part of the dog’s registered name.
Featured below is my dog - Ch.Soverenpark Jetaime.

This weeks dog sport feature - Scent Work!!

According to Dogs Australia
“Scent work involves training dogs (any breed) to search for specific odours from certain essential oils in several situations called ‘elements’, in containers such as boxes, on the outside of vehicles, inside buildings and in the outside environment.

Dogs need to find the source of the odour and communicate its exact location to their owner.”

There are heaps of clubs in Brisbane and the Gold Coast there is also lots of online resources available. If you would like a link any of these please reach out and I would be more then happy to provide them to you.

Midnight and I completed our course with Dogs Diet & Training and have recently started competing in trials.

Real life training post. Don’t have the time to train your dog ! Yes you do !!

Here I am in my PJ’s doing a small training session with Luna and her breakfast.

It can be as little as 5-10 mins a day and the results will speak for themselves.

Luna and I have only been working on this for a few days and she is already nailing her wait and recall

Miss Luna. (6months) is staying with us for a 10 day board and train while her mum is enjoying a holiday overseas.
We will be working on some socialisation skills , some crate + place training and general manners.

Confident Canines of the week - Beau the White Swiss Shepherd and Luna the Huskie. They are learning how to walk nicely with hoomum - no pulling and waiting patiently before crossing the street
