She took a perch upon Dr Esther’s head,
Displaying her feathers (the males are green, hers are red).

As many of you are aware, Dr Esther has been making regular trips to North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah), for over eighteen months now, while there was a temporary shortage of veterinary services. The Straddie community welcomed Dr Esther with open arms and she made many friends, feathered, furred and human, in her time there. Therefore, it's with a heavy heart, and after much deliberation that we have decided to hit pause on our fortnightly rounds to the island, now that veterinary services there have been restored.

We wish Jade and the team at Straddie Vet all the best and we are so very grateful to all of our Straddie friends and their furbabies for your support throughout this period... Dr Esther has treasured the opportunity to be part of your community, and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Hello wonderful community!

All great vets need to take a break every now and then, and Dr Esther is no exception. From Friday the 12th of July until Monday the 22nd of July, Dr Esther will be on hiatus from her veterinary duties, resting and recuperating.

Please call 1300 164 948 if you require a consultation, medication or scripts before the 12th of July. Thank you all for your ongoing support!

This beautiful boy goes by the name Hunter. Today, Dr Esther gave him his second puppy vaccination. Hunter was a rescue dog, but now he's here to rescue our hearts with his cuteness... thanks Hunter!

Dr Esther could barely contain her excitement meeting Simon the Maine C**n and Zorro the Selkirk Rex during a recent visit to Russell Island, although it's not clear if Zorro shares her enthusiasm. Simon's large furry feet and thick fur will assist him should he ever encounter any snow, they also mean he is perfect for cuddling!
