We are incredibly thrilled to welcome little Xander Michael to the Luna Rae team ❤️

He was born on 19th June, healthy and well.
Michaela and the family are all doing great and are over the moon with our new addition.

We are also so proud of Alpha for how well he has adapted to baby Xander coming home. Such a good boi 💙

We will be taking some time away from training clients for the next few months, but can't wait to be back doing what we love!

Happy 10th birthday to our wonderful boy, Alpha!

He is happiest when his toes are wet and his nose is sandy, with plenty of room to spread his wings 💕

We owe a huge debt to Alpha for all his time demo-ing in videos, practising new training ideas, and allowing our family to grow with loud little humans.

We love you Alpha 💜 You are the best listener and learner!

A 3-Week Online Dog Training Class for Busy Owners

After months of planning, we are thrilled to be bringing this class to you 🥳
We designed this online 'Mastering Walking & Recall' class with the modern, busy dog owner in mind who doesn't have hours of time to spend at the park perfecting a flawless heel.
Just simple, easy strategies that get your dog motivated to listen and respond when out & about.

Class starts Mon 15 April at 6.30pm.

All classes are recovered and come with homework easy guides, a dedicated FB community group, and the option to upgrade to 1-on-1 sessions.

The adorable faces we've had the pleasure of working with this week...

Indie the Whippet x Noodle - working through her assistance dog training checklist to develop a good base of training and strong connection with her handler.

Evie the Mastiff x Staffy x wrecking ball of love - a fun and playful house visit, nail clip training session, and exploratory walk.

Frankie the Cavoodle x ball lover - our first meeting for his mindDog assistance dog training! We got to know Frankie and his handler better and went over some of the training required of Frankie in his new role as a service dog.

Rosie the Border Collie x sweet butterfly - we met Rosie and her handler at Brookside shops to practice skills relating to her assistance work. We went in the lifts, practices loose lead walks up & down stairs, habituated to public busses, walked next to a trolley, and went through a checkout.

Millie the Cattle Dog x Bluey character - Millie also went to Brookside for the same training experience as Rosie for some training in a more busy location. Millie feels safest when she can sit and observe, so we are working on developing her confidence whilst in a public setting.

😝 Meet Milly 😝

One half of the silliest, sweetest duo (check the photos to see her blood brother, Oreo).

I couldn't resist sharing these photos from the pup's most recent session together.

We are working on getting them more confident on lead with less pulling and better responses to cues.

One thing that has worked wonders in bringing out Milly's confidence is play, praise, and belly rubs. Lots of belly rubs! Milly's love language is definitely physical touch 😄

These siblings' personalities are so similar, yet so different!
Oreo couldn't give two hoots about belly rubs when out & about, but balls are another matter altogether 😍

We've had a great week working with some of our clients towards their assistance dog certification.

Daisy has been a mindDog for a few years, and we've caught up to keep on top of her training and barking when she's excited.

Barrie the Lab is getting used to wearing her new non-slip shoes inside the shopping centre to help reduce her fears of slipping over. She has slipped in the past due to her hip dysplasia, causing her great worries when she sees that the floor is shiny. She tackled it like the superstar that she is.

Bozley had his last training session with us at Brookside before he completes his Public Access Test (PAT) next week. Boz & his pawrent have done a beautiful job of keeping up with his skills.

And last, but certainly not least, we met mindDog's latest trainee, a glorious Chi named... Chi Chi! She (along with her mumma) were such a delight and we look forward to many fun times working towards Chi Chi's PAT in 12 months time.

What a great week to be doing what we love with these amazing dogs and their owners!

Did you know that every dog has a unique nose print?

Dogs are one of a few species that have a nose pattern unique to each animal that can be used to identify them, similar to our fingerprint.

Other animals that have unique nose prints are wolves, cats, cows, deers, or gorillas!

We love this up close of Queen Luna's nose as she was having a snooze on our lap ❤️ 😴
