【International Blind Dog Day】is a day to celebrate dogs that have lost their vision due to disease or injury. On this special day, people can give these brave dogs a loving home by adopting them from shelters or by donating money to help fund blindness treatments for these dogs.
Blind dogs rely on their other senses (such as smell, hearing, and touch) to help them navigate their surroundings. While these dogs may not be able to see like you or I do, they make up for it with their strong sense of smell and hearing. In fact, many international blind dog owners say that their dog is better than any human guide when it comes to navigating through unfamiliar environments, and because these dogs are bred specifically for companionship instead of hunting or fighting, they’re also incredibly gentle children.

Hello there, my name is Goose🐱

I am a very confident little man, though I can sometimes get anxious in new places, but give me time and I’ll be acting like I own it.
I am one year old and still a kitten at heart. I show my love through my constant companionship and curling up by your side. You’ll often find me following you when you move from room to room.
I am a trainable young man as I am very food motivated. I can be rather vocal when it’s close to dinner time. I will run to meet you when you come home and meow around the house when I can’t find you. I often come when called and will greet you with a bunt of my cheek.

My brain tells me I have to eat fabric. Please understand that it is a compulsion and I can’t help it. I don’t mean to ruin your clothes and shoelaces, so please help keep myself and them safe by ensuring they are put away and out of my reach at all times. You can tire out my brain through taking me for walks on my harness (which I love) or entertaining me with food puzzles and all my toys (which I also love). I am on medication and a special diet to help with my compulsions.

My new human must be somebody kind, patient, reliable and financially stable enough to give me the care I need, with time in their schedule to shower me with the love and attention I deserve. I believe I would do well in a family home, or with another playful animal friend, or in a retired household.

Should you like to bring me home I will already have my own cat tree, litter tray, harness, and all my favourite toys.

I can be a lot of work, but I will adore and love you and show you that I do. I will crawl my way into your heart and in no time you won’t be able to imagine life without me.

Last week, Nyle the Pomky (Pomeranian X Husky) visited us due to lethargy and severe diarrhea, and he was diagnosed with Giardia. After a few days of treatment, Nyle is back to his usual self and tested negative for Giardia today! His owner is thrilled and has found their lifelong vet in Dr. Leo.

Giardia is a common parasitic infection that can cause severe diarrhea in dogs. It‘s often found in feces-contaminated soil, food, and water. To help prevent infection, it’s best to avoid dog parks after rain.

【National Mutt Day】, also known as National Mixed Breed Dog Day, is all about embracing, saving and celebrating mixed breed dogs. It also brings attention to many great mixed breed dogs in need of homes.

Adopt a mixed breed dog - There are lots of great dogs out there who lack a home just because they don’t have the right pedigree. Getting any dog is a big responsibility, but a mixed breed will likely be healthier, happier, better behaved — and live longer than a purebred of the same age. These dogs have hit the genetic lottery. The blending of genes helps fight deficiencies by providing healthier gene sequences from other breeds. Think of it this way: the smaller the gene pool, the less healthy the genes. Your mutt, on the other hand, has a sampling from all over, adding to the dog‘s overall lifespan and well-being. 
If you can’t adopt a mutt, you can still help out your local shelter with a donation, or even volunteer to help take them for walks.

After some tests and X-rays, we discovered she had two massive bladder stones—check out the size of these! 🔬 We quickly got to work with intravenous fluids and prepared for surgery.
