🍃 This species of leaf insect is very quiet during the day, but becomes active during the night. When they walk, they will walk in a stop-go kind of way, as if they are moved by the wind. These little guys are able to regrow limbs they may loose during their sheds, however are not able to regrow them once they have reached adulthood. Once they have reached adulthood, the males are able to fly, and they generally will do this often when disturbed. The females however cannot fly.

Native to the tropics of the Eastern Hemisphere, this species of leaf insect eats blackberries, rose and oak leaves. 🌷

🤔 Did you know that Leaf insects are among the most successful camouflagers known to exist. They are so successful that they have been known to confuse their friends with their food.

We have had many specimens come through with little nibble marks around their bodies from their friends mistaking them for food! 🍃
