To all our valued customers, unfortunately we have had a delay of 2-3 weeks in moving the salon to Greenslopes. Sorry for any inconvenience. Aimie and Fiona

Just a friendly reminder to keep up to date with flea and tick prevention and to check your furry friends over! We found a large well fed tick on a client today even though they had recently had their preventative. Paralysis ticks can be deadly if not found and treated ASAP. Most commonly found in areas such as the lips, eyelids, nose, toes and warm areas such as the groin but can burrow into your dogs skin anywhere on the body. Ticks aren't just found in bush areas so even in your backyard your dog can pick one up. We'd hate to see anyone lose their beloved pets to one of these little buggers!

UPDATE Saturday 10/8/19
We have had a number of people contact us with regard to those that have been affected by this, so it’s hard to tell how many victims there are in total, but we BELIEVE FROM REPORTS that there 12 affected and 8 lives lost. We cannot be 100% sure of numbers as we are feeding off our community and the rescue and vetinary network. Please keep in mind that not everyone involved wants contact with media.

What we definitely know:

❗️- Areas affected are Newstead and Newfarm Dog Parks
❗️- The poison is thrown in with and rolled in mince like meat as well as pieces of meat off cuts. Some dogs were believed to ingest the meat around the dog park and not actually in it.
❗️- The first poisoning (that we know of) was reported to a vet in the Newstead area on Thursday afternoon, and the most recent at an vet on the city fringe in the early hours of this morning.
❗️- Brisbane City Council has been sited at both dogs parks inspecting

We encourage everyone to be vigilant no matter where they take their animals as those responsible could strike again.

UPDATE: NEWSTEAD has also had reported baitings today: we are now aware of 8 deaths in 24 hours!!

❗️❌ DOG BAITING WARNING ❌❗️

NEWFARM AREA BRISBANE

We have received 2 reports in the last hour from different vets within this area of a number of dogs that have been brought in having ingested bait in new farm park dog park or new farm park.
2 dogs passed away overnight with another few in critical condition

❄☃️❄☃️❄☃️❄☃️❄☃️❄☃️❄☃️❄
With winter approaching we hear a lot that dogs don't need grooming over winter so that they don't get cold. So with that in mind I want to let you know the benefits of keeping a regular grooming schedule over the cooler months to keep your furry friends in tip top condition
▪Coat condition- Whilst you feel a longer coat will keep fido warmer in winter the coat must be kept knot/matt free. Matting will have the opposite effect and expose the skin to the cold air. With regular grooming we can keep the coat to a longer length.
▪If you decide to keep a jacket on your dog, it is best to keep the body short so that the jacket doesn't create friction and create matting.
▪Regular baths and tidy ups over winter will keep your pet smelling fresh ( who wants to snuggle a stinky dog on those long winter nights)
▪Grooming doesn't have to mean an all over groom, we can keep the hygiene/eye area short and easy to manage.
▪Double coated breeds should still have the dead undercoat removed. Compacted dead coat has the same effect as matting and will cause your dog to be ineffective in keeping in heat
