Our trainee Oakley has made huge progress with his training in the past couple of days and we’re so the proud of him! 🥹

Oakley has a TONNE of love to give everyone he meets, so it was important we gave him the tools to interactly calmly when the time is needed. Through this training process, we have also introduced a place command to build a solid foundation of relaxing confidently alone ☺️

At the end of each training session we finish with lots of pats and cuddles! Our little apprentice Nash was in charge of the love and he chose belly and foot rubs! 🤣🐶 As you can see, Okaley was happy to embrace this fully!

Okaley is working on his place and wait commands at the park around low stimulus. We use a long lead in this exercise, incase he moves and we need to jump in and gain calm and safe control while working at a distance. ☺️

We love all animals here at The K9 Centre. Sadly yesterday “Tony” our Cichlad passed away. Tony was not just a fish…he was a cherished family member who was full of character and a good mate to “Cathew”. We miss you..!

Koa the GSD

Koa is so happy to have met and played with Lucy our Malinois and Lola our Frenchie this weekend! 😊 We’ve been working with Koa due to reactivity when on lead or meeting new dogs. We’ve worked with him on how to properly and respectfully interact with other dogs he meets out and about and look at him now! This is his first time interacting with Lucy! See if you can pick the moments in the video where Lucy and Lola remind him with body queues on how to behave. We absolutely love watching our dogs work with and teach our trainees! No better teacher than another dog. 🐕 * We keep the leads on to ensure we can gain quick control if needed and keep the exercise as safe as possible. The dogs are not left unattended with equipment. Safety is our number on priority! #koa #lucy #lola #boardingandtraining

When Mizu the 12 week old Doberman came to stay with our trainer Jade, she was very unsure of other dogs and how to engage play. At first, she was hiding, extremely submissive and somewhat fearful to interact. We are so proud of the hard work our socialisation dog, Gus does! In only a night he was able to help Mizu come out of her shell and introduce her to healthy play! There’s such a huge misconception that this sort of play promotes aggression… IT DOESNT! Play that is monitored with dogs who have been taught correct socialisation early on, is so important! You can see in this video Mizu is still learning so we will be sure to update you with a more confident Mizu at the end of her stay! Stay tuned! 🐶 #gusthefrenchie #mizuthedoberman #play

Mako 🐕

Hey Guys! 😊 I just quickly wanted to jump on and share a video I received from a client of mine. We first worked with Mako through our Boarding and Training program and we are so proud of the progress he and his awesome owner have made! His owner has worked hard, contacted us anytime she had a question and has achieve this amazing result! Having a high drive working Malinois isn’t easy, even for us in this job! But this is the result when you commit and persist with training and the day to day management of your dog. We love working with Mako and his owner Vanessa and we can’t wait to see this boy mature into an awesome protection dog!😊 If you have any questions about any of training programs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch! 🐶
