🚨❤️I don't want to lose my mum - please help me!🚨❤️

*Temporary Home Needed to Save Scooby*

My mum and I are in a bit of a pickle, and I need your help! I'm a super affectionate boy who loves kisses and pats, but most of all, I love my mum. She's everything to me - my best friend, my comfort, and my world. I don't want to lose her, and I know she doesn't want to lose me either. My mummy is doing all she can to keep us together, but we need your help. That's why I'm looking for a temporary home to crash in for a little while.

I'm a bit cheeky, but I promise I'll be a great housemate! My favourite thing in the world is giving my humans love and attention. I can get a little overwhelmed when meeting new people, but don't worry - I have my trusty teddy bear, my emotional support buddy, to keep me company. My mum says I'm a clever boy (and I love when she says that!), and I'll be sure to bring lots of joy and snuggles to my temporary family.

But what I really want is to be back with my mum, and I know that with your help, we can make that happen. Please help me find a temporary home - I promise to be a good boy and bring lots of love!

Please contact my mum if you can help me :

Email: [email protected]

Let's do this, and keep me and my mum together. If you can help.

This week I saw Bowser!
We have been working on some walking strategies with him and this week we covered some home alone strategies!
This little man had a big scare recently after eating a packet of nurofen and ending up in hospital for two weeks.
Once he has the all clear physically we will start working on being calm around other dogs on walks.
He was a very lucky boy and has recovered well.
This is a good reminder for all of us that puppies are inquisitive and explore with their mouth!
Keeping medication up high and behind closed doors is essential for both child and pet safety.
* I have birds 🐦 who also chew everything they can get their beaks on so this applies to all species!

Recently I saw Duke who is an Akita currently in foster care with
Duke is still waiting for his forever home.
He has some sound sensitivity to believe it or not.. the Bagpipes!
We worked out a plan to help him relax and have fun while his foster parent practices.
He did really well on the day and I'm keen to see how he progresses!

BANJO
Siberian Husky
9 year old Male
Location – Holland Park
Adoption Fee: $450 (Includes GST, desexing, negative Heartworm test, current C5 vaccination and microchipping transferred to new owners)
QLD Supply # BIN0000139144842

Want to know what the name of the sound is that a Banjo makes? It is called a ‘Twankle’ – and you know what, I can be a bit of a Twankle at times myself… I am your typical loud-mouth, stubborn, lovable larrikin Husky.

Being 9 years old, I know what I want out of life and will happily tell you all about it. Like if you happen to forget it is our daily walk time – that is my favourite part of the day, and don’t think I will let you get lazy and skip out on that. A 30 minute amble is fine, just let me get out and about on lead at least once a day.

For the rest of the day, I really like to lounge around inside with you. If you must go out for a little bit, that is ok. I won’t mind a warm sunny spot outside for a bit, just make sure the fences are over 5ft and sturdy – if there are loose palings I might have to do some demo work to see what is on the other side. Whilst inside, I have my favourite 2 toys to entertain myself and love a good Lick mat or something else to keep my mind busy. Left to my own devices, I might find some toilet rolls or something else in the bin to shred.

I have been around other dogs in the past, but being set in my ways, I can be a bit of a ‘Twankle’. I don’t like to be harassed or hu**ed and so it might be best to be an only dog. Like any other normal Husky, cats and other small animals are fair game and I am not to be trusted around them.

I currently live with 2 adults, one of whom is in a wheelchair. I think I most suit older families or a retired couple, just no small kids. I don’t have the longest fuse in my grumpy old age and hate my legs being touched, but if people respect my boundaries, then I will fit right in… just like a Banjo at a Hoe Down!

The key for us will be that whilst you understand my quirks, you are also willing to help me learn more with gentle reinforcement and educational games. Don’t believe what they say, you absolutely can teach an old(ish) dog new tricks, Twankle or not!

To talk to SHAMROQ about meeting me, please reach out by going to www.shamroq.org.au/adoption and filling out the info form.

Recently I met Chilli!
This adorable little BDC puppy is the sweetest little boy!
His pawrents got me in to help with all things puppy but mostly to get a solid plan to help him stay home alone when the time comes for them both to be back at work!
They already have a couple of great safe spaces for him to be in and will slowly build his time alone.
We talked through the use of enrichment and calming music to help the process !
I’m pretty sure this pup is set up for success!

This week I caught up with Ragamuffin and his mum to do some work in public spaces.
Ragamuffin is doing really well navigating busy places and has great focus.
As a MindDog Ragamuffin needs to be focused on his human and with his unique looks it is quite tempting for people to want to pat him.
We really need to leave assistance dogs to do their important work.
* I’m pretty sure my hair used to look like this back in the day!! 🤩😍

Do you remember Kash?
We did quite a bit of work a few years ago for his reactivity and things have been going well- I hadn’t heard from him in almost 2 years I think!
Kash recently moved house and has backslid a bit in his reactivity so we are doing a couple of sessions to help him reset in his new environment!
It’s always a pleasure to see this kid and his family!
They are such a great team!

This week I caught up with Odin again (left) and met his younger brother Alex!
Odin is worried about new people and dogs and Alex also needs some help with his confidence around dogs as he was mugged in a dog park when he was young.
This meeting Odin was much more relaxed seeing me and so we went out and about to practice his games in different places.
Their parents are working with their vets at Park Ridge Animal Hospital and myself for a comprehensive plan.

Please give a huge round of applause for Claude and his mum who passed their MindDog Public Assessment Test (PAT) today!
Claude is a rescue and I would say he and his mum rescued each other!
Claude missed his crucial socialisation period when he was a puppy so he was unsure of how to interact with other dogs.
His mum has worked so well to help him understand seeing other dogs is a good thing and he has even gained the skills to meet dogs and make friends!
He has shown us that when he is working in public places he can remain calm and focused on his mum and now they are a qualified MindDogs Team.
I’m so proud of both of them!
If you see an assistance dog team out and about it’s really important to just let them go about their business.
You can smile and admire from afar but these dogs are providing important support to their humans so please don’t ask to pat these dogs.
