As the colder weather is on its way out, it’s time to start shaving those warm winter coats off your dogs.

We understand the desire to have a longer coat on your dog during winter, but during summer, it’s best to shave.

Currently, we have had an influx of clients with very matted dogs, so it is crucial we remind you of the significance of matting.

Let’s talk about matting.

Matting refers to densely tangled clumps of fur in a pet’s coat. If a coat is not properly and/or frequently brushed, loose and live hair become embedded in large masses. Sometimes mats can be combed out, but if left too long, it is impossible without seriously harming the animal. Matts can form in both the outer coat as well as the deeper undercoat. In some cases, excessive matts can cause hematomas. Mostly forming on dogs ears, hematomas are burst bloods vessels due to constricted blood flow. If left untreated, the hematoma may be slowly reabsorbed but the associated inflammation will cause damage to the surrounding ear tissues, resulting in a distorted, cauliflower-shaped ear that could obstruct the ear ca**l. Aural hematomas are very painful and, for an affected dog’s welfare, should be treated promptly.

Please note, if your dog is significantly matted, we require you to sign a ‘Matted Dog Release Form” that releases The Grooming Salon Stones Corner from all liability.

If your dog’s matting requires extra time or two groomers (as opposed to one) to shave off, please note you will incur an additional fee (subject to the level of matting)

As one of Brisbane’s South Side’s most known grooming salons, we pride ourselves in our commitment to your dogs quality of life. If we notice matting on your dog, we always inform the owner as we prefer not to send matted dogs home.
Don’t worry, the hair grows back and after we remove the matts we can keep your dog on a good schedule to prevent any future matting.

We are happy to announce we are accepting a new species of client…POLAR BEAR!!!🐻‍❄️😱🥳

Hahaha just kidding, Freddie is one of our beloved daycare and grooming dogs. His parents love a giant white fluff ball sleeping next to them at night so they maintain his luscious coat by sending him to The Grooming Salon Stones Corner for weekly bath and blow dries.

Starting at $40 (subject to the size of your dog and the length of their coat) a bath and blow dry includes; a full bath and blow dry, full body brush, nail trimming, and spritz of cologne.
We also offer simple bath and towel dries for the dogs who are less tolerant of the blowdryer (starting at $30).

Taking “turn that frown upside down” to a whole new level🤣

Socialising your new puppy is crucial when becoming a new dog parent. Socialising is not just about getting your pup used to people and other dogs, but also making sure that they have lots of different and positive experiences that will help them grow into happy and confident adults.

Here at The Grooming Salon Stones Corner, we pride ourselves in being a ‘social salon’. Unlike most groomers, where they crate dogs before and after their groom, we allow our dogs to socialise with each other.

We cater for small to medium dogs in daycare but groom all breeds and sizes.

In our daycare room, we have 5 staff members (groomers and a receptionist) supervising the dogs at all times. We also have the option of crates and a seperate room for those pups that need a little time to settle down before meeting everyone.

Daycare prices are as follows:
Half day (up to 5 hours): $35
Full day (over 5 hours): $49
5 Full Day Pack: $225
10 Full Day Pack: $420

That doesn’t look very comfy…but she makes it work🤣

Sisal is a beautifully well kept labradoodle. With a ridiculously curly coat, it is crucial to understand the importance of brushing when owning an oodle (or any grooming dog for that matter)

Let’s talk about brushing.
Daily treatment with the brush cleans the coat of dirt, fallen hairs and dead skin flakes. Regular brushing also distributes natural oils for a more clean and healthy coat and also helps prevent matting. Mats cut off the air flow in your dog’s hair and can trap moisture, which can cause irritation and sores on your dog. Even mild matting can be painful, but in severe cases, matting can cut off circulation to your dog’s skin and cause hematomas.

Owners should be brushing their dogs every couple of days (especially if you like to keep your dogs coat at that longer length)

We understand brushing can be time consuming for people with busy lives which is why we have the perfect solution for you!!

At The Grooming Salon Stones Corner we offer a bath and blow dry service.
Starting at $40 (subject to size and length of your dogs’ coat), a bath and blow dry is an excellent way to upkeep your beautiful pups fur. It includes, a bath, blow dry, full body brush out, nail trimming and a spritz of cologne.

Here at The Grooming Salon Stones Corner we pride ourselves in customer relationships and building unbreakable trust. We understand the level of care that is needed when grooming and when providing tender love and care for your dogs.

Meet our team!

The owner - Liz started her career in grooming and working alongside dogs back home in the UK. She moved to Australia where she has spent more than 15 years perfecting her craft. She has recently expanded her business and is currently grooming from Hervey Bay.

In the absence of Liz, she puts all the decision making and trust into the hands of our wonderful salon manager, Eden.
Coming from a background of dog training, Eden has brought so much expertise and joy to our salon. She began her journey in January 2020 as a washroom assistant and gradually made her way to mastering all skills needed to be salon manager.
While completing excellent modern grooms in a timely manner, she takes her time learning each dogs’ behaviours and teaching them that we are here to help. She specialises in rehabilitation grooms, teaching anxious and aggressive dogs that grooming is not as scary as it seems. Eden is a proud mother of two fabulously dyed and groomed oodles and loves a good teddy face, but has a special interest in breed specific grooms on purebreds.

Chloe - Senior Groomer
Chloe joined The Grooming Salon in April 2022. She had just recently moved from Melbourne where she had begun her grooming career. Chloe is an exceptional groomer, grooming all breeds and sizes. Her contagious smile and genuine love for dogs makes her a wonderful addition to our team.

Next we have our Jamie.
Jamie joined our team as a volunteer where she was following her dreams of becoming a dog groomer. She started her journey in January 2023 as a washroom assistant and is now completing exceptional specialised grooms in nationally recognised competitions.

Our newest groomer and senior washroom member, Emma, began her dog grooming journey in 2022. She has spent over a year mastering all aspects of the washroom and is responsible for supervising our newest employees. She has a special talent for all things artistic and has integrated those talents into her grooms.

Zealia - Senior Washroom Member
With her own bubba at home, Zea always provides a little extra TLC to all our furry friends. She has a genuine love and passion for all animals. She is a mastermind at getting your pups squeaky clean and brushed out, ready for the groomers.

Trinity - Washroom Assistant
Before her salon days, Trinity spent her days as a sprinter. With only a few months under her belt, she has proven to be determined and a fast learner. She is always eager to do more and take on more responsibilities. Trinity has been an absolute delightful addition to our team.

Phoebe - Washroom Assistant
Phoebe is our newest additions to The Grooming Salon. Just like the rest of us, she is starting in the washroom, spending time learning the importance of washing and brushing dogs. She always arrive to work with a smile on her face ready to tackle the day.

Finally, our receptionists’, Ping and Hayley
With a background and passion for customer service, Ping prides herself in her ability to build customer rapport. She began her journey at The Grooming Salon in the washroom but her bubbly attitude made her a perfect fit for reception.
As a previous baker, Hayley has a meticulous attention to detail. She takes the time to get to know each dog and their owner - it’s obvious the dogs have a favourite. Hayley and Ping are responsible for providing an exceptional customer service to all human and doggy clients.

We hope this introduction makes you feel more confident with leaving your dogs in our care. We want you and your pup to feel safe and comfortable with us when grooming or simply in daycare. We all understand the significance of building that trust with clients (and your fur babies).

Due to an increase of missed appointments without sufficient notice, it is crucial we remind you of our Cancellation Policy (written in our “New Client Form”)

All clients are required to provide a minimum of 24 hours to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Those that do not provide sufficient notice will have a 50% no show fee applied to their next visit.

No shows are detrimental to our small business so we ask that you please respect our policy and provide adequate notice.
