The microchip registry HomeSafeID (the microchip company used for all RSPCA adoptions) is being deactivated. If your pet is registered with them, your details will be DELETED.

What to do:

✅ If you have your pets microchip number go to petaddress.com.au to check where your pet is registered!
✅ If it's HomeSafeID, you'll need to re-register with another registry such as the Australasian Animal Registry.
✅ Email us at [email protected] to check your pets microchip number
✅️ You can register your pet online at aar.org.au

As we prepare to welcome in the New Year, we know that cats and dogs have particularly sensitive ears so it's important to consider them when it comes to noisy events.

Here are some tips to ensure that your pets cruise comfortably into 2025:

✨ Create a quiet space in your home that your pet can retreat to. Make sure they can still easily access their water and litter box.
✨ If your pet wears a collar, make sure your contact information is clearly visible in case of any unplanned adventures.
✨ To prevent pets from panicking & escaping, keep windows and doors to the outside closed.
✨ Provide plenty of exercise early on in the day so your pet doesn't have excess energy adding to their nerves in the evening.
✨ If your pet seems unsettled, provide plenty of pats and cuddles to distract from the commotion. However, some cats prefer to be left in peace when they are stressed.
