I love incorporating physical fitness and conditioning into my obedience classes, particularly for my performance sport class.
We expect our dogs to maintain posture and focus for a period of time while in the ring; they need the conditioning and stamina to do so.
Starting obedience training with some warms ups should be essential to every lesson, and as instructors we need to be teaching the owners how to train these exercises to maintain condition for the obedience and rally rings, and pretty much every other sport offered.
