The beginning of the Slow Food Festival Terra Madre 2024 in Turin!
The space is filled with energy from people all over the world coming together to represent their community.
This year’s theme ‘Restoring our relationship with nature’ is showcasing the link our food has with culture and our relationship with nature. All these people have come together with vision of a positive future.
Many things to be looking forward to over the next few days. Thanks again @slowfoodbrisbane for the opportunity to participate in this year’s event!
Ciao 🇮🇹
Our Backyard Herbalism workshop is on next weekend with @melissanaturopath. This has been our most popular workshop on the farm.
We will be going through all the useful herbs, vegetables and weeds growing on the farm, how to use them and what health benefits they provide.
Come and join us for a fun filled interactive day foraging on the farm, learning basic principles of herbal medicine and eating a fantastic farm lunch to finish.
Hope to see you there!

How will Neighbourhood Farm survive?
At our Past Present Future event on Saturday 2nd it was suggested by an attendee that the community fund Matt to have a 6 week break while he recovers and rejuvenates his energy and takes time to reflect on your suggestions and offers of support. With a show of hands 🤚 the community enthusiastically backed this idea!

What will your money do?
🥕Matt has poured his cup into the community and Neighbourhood Farm for the last 8 years. If NHF is to come back to life in 2024 it will be because Matt has rested and recovered and restored his motivation and reflected on how to bring your ideas for NHF to life. Help him take the break he needs to do this.
🥕The farm needs a “skeleton” staff to run over summer while Matt is off. Help cover their wages and other ongoing costs.
🥕If NHF restarts in 2024 we will need capital to purchase seed & other consumables, pay for rent/water/electricity, wages and repair/upgrade any infrastructure. Any extra money will go towards a NHF restart fund.
The community also told us strongly that they wanted to help Neighbourhood Farm maintain a positive cashflow by becoming members and paying an ongoing membership fee. More information is coming soon on this and other ways you can play your part in making sure Neighbourhood Farm survives and returns as the best version of its self into the future.
Your passion for your Neighbourhood Farm is a very special thing. Farms like ours are nothing without the support of the community, thank you for making Neighbourhood Farm possible.
Fun day at the farm playing around with Curly's Ag Australia all electric Clydesdale two wheel tractor.
We tried out the flail mower, power harrow and compost tipper. It speaks for itself such a versatile easy to use machine that has so many applications and possibilities.
Thanks for coming out Curly we really enjoyed the day and what you have created! Keep an eye out for these as they should be out soon.
Thank you all for the messages of love and support. It has been surreal to watch everything we have worked so hard on over the years suddenly underwater.. today has been devastating to say the least. We want nothing more than to recover from this as fast as possible and get back into farming and providing for our community. Our amazing friend Kate @clearwaterharvest has launched a go fund me campaign to help us clean up and restore what has been lost. If you can we would be very grateful to receive support at this time, to overcome a huge setback and to help keep the farm going for good!
