Does your dog have an off switch?

One of the biggest issues we see with client's dogs is their inability to be calm, they are always on, alert to every sound and movement, constantly seeking attention or trying to initiate play and always getting into mischief.

These dogs don't need more activities, they don't need more exercise, they don't need more play, they don't need more enrichment or puzzle toys and they don't need medication!

What they need is simple!

They need an off switch!

A dog who knows when to be on (and therefore when to be off) and a dog who defaults to being calm unless we asked them to be active will be a pleasure to live with and it's actually easier than you think to achieve!

Does this sound like your dog?

Have a read of this article to see how to get started on teaching your dog to switch off.

Another ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review from a happy client!

We love helping dog owners train their dogs and nothing makes us happier than to receive feedback about how much our help has impacted those clients. We appreciate every review we get and are so grateful for clients taking the time to publicly make a review sharing their results with our training system.

Thank you Karen for taking the time to leave this review! Your hard work with Remy is where all the results came from, I just helped guide that way! 😉

Rufus (the white dog) has been training with us for a few months and has been attending group classes for the last 2 months.

He used to bark at other dogs, people and was fearful of many things. Since he started attending group training he's gone from strength to strength and you'll typically see him strutting around the field like he owns the show! He can even handled other dogs getting close to him now - see the video!

We're so proud of how far this little dude has come!

Do you want your dog to look like Rufus does here? Reach out to learn how we can help!

🐾🐾Do you have a new puppy?🐾🐾

Let's face it, puppies are hard work! Sure they are cute and cuddly but most of your time will be spent getting things out of their mouths, stopping them from destroying things, getting frustrated at their teeth and re-thinking your motivations for getting a puppy in the first place!

What if it was so much easier than that? What if you knew exactly how to set up your home, your lifestyle and your training to make things smooth and easy?

What if you knew how to address naughty behaviours as they are happening?

What if you had a game plan for what to teach and when?

What if you knew what red flags to watch out for and how to address them if you see them?

Great news! Our puppy raising program covers all that and more! In our detailed online course you'll learn everything you think you need to know about puppy raising and everything that you don't know that you need to know! We cover things that you won't learn at puppy or obedience schools and also teach you multiple strategies in how to solve problems if they crop up!

This is a self paced, online course that you can access immediately and use for as long as you like to help raise an incredible puppy!

Murphy the Portugese Water Dog struggles with aggression towards strangers. He's been working with us for a few months now and this week in our lesson we challenged him with a trip to bunnings!

This is a big step for a dog who struggles with strangers but Murphy handled it so well and was a total star!

If you have a dog who doesn't cope with strangers please get in touch- there is hope!

Sliding into your day with some socialisation tips!

Socialisation is a hot topic when raising a puppy and it is not something that you want to get wrong if you are raising a pup! We cannot stress just how important it is and we'll keep sharing posts like this to help dog owners like yourself understand socialisation better!
🚫 socialisation is not: 🚫

❌️ puppy school
❌️ playing with every dog you meet
❌️ meeting and playing with all the people
❌️ done when puppy school finishes
❌️ started when vaccinations are finished

✳️ socialisation is ✳️

✅️ learning how to behave in any and all situations
✅️ varied and interesting experiences that mimick what the pup will experience later in life
✅️ appropriate to the temperament of your individual pup
✅️ seeing lots of dogs and people and learning how to be calm and polite
✅️ hearing lots of different sounds
✅️ seeing lots of different things
✅️ visiting a range of different places
✅️ socialisation starts when you bring your pup home
✅️ socialisation finishes when your pup behaves the way you want them to in all situations

❗️ The biggest mistakes we see puppy owners make are: ❗️

🔴 too little socialisation in the critical window (8-16 weeks)
🔴 too much interaction with other dogs and people
🔴 the wrong type of socialisation for your pup's temperament
🔴 not continuing careful and thoughtful socialisation through to adulthood
🔴 allowing pup's to rehearse unwanted behaviours because they are "socialising"

So there you have it! Our (likely unpopular) opinion on socialisation. Please share with your friends because this is so important for raising an awesome dog!

How good do they all look? Nearly all these dogs were formerly reactive so this is pretty impressive for all of them!

Bentley the German Shepherd who's here for board and train has progressed to being a helper dog in lessons! Before training with us he could not see another dog without exploding into barking and lunging and now look at him!

Little Pepper wrapped up her private training this week and now gets to move into group classes!
