Lando, a 10-week-old Domestic Short Hair kitten, is one lucky boy! Rescued from a country QLD pound alongside his mum and two sisters at just 6 weeks old, his life almost came to an end before Furry Friends stepped in. After a long journey to Brisbane, Lando arrived scared and unsure, having spent most of his life in a cage. 😿

With patience and love from his foster family, Lando is slowly learning to trust again. Though he still prefers to hide and observe from a safe distance, he’s starting to accept pats and scratches. He’s made incredible progress in just a few weeks, and we know he’ll continue to grow in confidence in the right forever home! 🌟

Francis is loving his new home! His new family says he’s settled in quickly and is even getting along great with his new sibling, Maudey. 🐾

From his first photo with us to now, the difference is amazing—he’s so much happier and more curious! He even tried jumping on top of Maudey’s cardboard car… and quickly found out it wasn’t very sturdy! 😹

A New Beginning for Five Furry Friends: A Heartwarming Tale [EP.1] In a cozy corner of Furry Friend Foster Care, a gentle buzz of excitement filled the air. It was a special evening, for today marked the arrival of a new litter of five black kittens. These tiny furballs, just a few weeks old, had been surrendered by a kind-hearted couple who, despite their love, couldn’t afford to keep them. Financial struggles had also meant they couldn’t afford the desexing of the mother cat, leading them to join Furry Friends Animal Rescue. The five kittens, all sleek and black, huddled together in a cozy, fleece-lined basket. Their big, curious eyes peeked out, taking in their new surroundings. It was their first night away from their parents, and the unfamiliar environment made them a bit shy and scared. Despite this, there was a spark of resilience in their eyes, a testament to their surprisingly good condition. The caretakers at Furry Friends were prepared for the new arrivals. They knew how daunting the first night away from home could be. The room was warm, filled with soft lighting and the gentle hum of a lullaby playing in the background. The scent of fresh, clean bedding mixed with the faint aroma of catnip toys scattered around. As the night progressed, the kittens began to relax. Alanna and her team took turns gently petting each one, offering treats and toys to help ease their fears. Seeing the brave one’s exploration, the other four kittens soon followed suit. Each one had its own unique personality despite their matching black coats. There was a fluffy one with bright yellow eyes, a sleek one with a playful nature, another with a small patch of white on its chest, and a shy little one with a soft, purring habit.
