A friend of ours has lost cows in the recent flood. If you live along the river from samford to Albany creek or 3km from it. Cows are very social animals and will be missing their family. They will most likely be scared.

I feel real honoured to own Chris Bartle’s Olympic jacket from the 2000 olympics. (Long story that starts with Australian made Blundstone boots). He is such a nice guy and so personable. He has worked so hard behind the scenes for over twenty years and is the man behind the success of so many top riders.

I LOVE Dun Horses! They have a thick dark stripe that goes all the way up their back and continues as a stripe down to the bottom of their tail. Mix that with primitive markings ! I love how the dun gene really screws with colour. Pictured : Australia’s first dun Morgan mare Eatons Hill Siska.

Exciting news! Our very first Hanoverian we bred Wyntermore’s new owner has reconnected with us. Kelie Coffey now owns “Mikey” at aged 19years old. We were happy to hear that this will be his final home and she loves him. Kelie plans to do some light dressage with him. It was heartwarming to hear about him. His foundations, we laid down in his training during his first three years of life have continued to influence him today.

Thanks to Chris and Elisa Fox at Cooinda Santa Gertrudis stud who have entrusted us with our new bull Cooinda Ted Bullpit. He arrived safely today by personal delivery by the Cooinda owners. We have given him the paddock name of Teddy. He is gentle and has the outstanding quality we have been looking to obtain for our next chapter. He is a double poll so we are also looking forward to the next three years without dehorning. We discovered today that their stud colours and ours are very similar. Thankfully they specialise in the stud market for bulls where we target quality heifers.

Bagging down a horse is so important in their training process. Even when it’s hot we found a way to practice with young Eatons Hill Solomon. He’s temperament is so wonderful.

Message from owner Shelby “We started popping him over a couple of small jumps last week cause he’s been getting bored with flatwork, (this guy is so intelligent you really need to mix things up to keep his brain engaged) and he loved it so much we thought we’d take him to a little local jump comp yesterday. So here’s the vid of his first ever jumping round, 60cm cause we got there too late for the 50cm..”

Eatons Hill Stud is a boutique breeding and competition farm. All our breeding stock have undergone extensive vet checks to the level of an eventing horse. We try to ensure our breeding stock have participated in a variety of disciplines and competitions. Our foals are handled from an early age. They are good doers and generally don’t need shoeing. Morgans are highly intelligent and kind. If you need a horse who is willing to learn and sensible enough to trail ride then this is the horse for you.
