Well… that was embarrassing. If you just received not one, not two, but THREE emails from us in 30 minutes—oopsie!

Our email system got a little too excited to share dog training tips with you.

Nato’s owner came to us feeling frustrated with the constant struggle on walks...

Nato’s startle responses and reactive behavior made outings stressful, and it felt like they couldn’t make any progress.

From Reactive to Resilient: Princeton’s Training Journey 🐾

Princeton the Corgi and his owner Marcus are tackling reactivity head-on with our Manners for Pups package.

After a few rough run-ins with off-leash dogs, Princeton developed big feelings about other dogs on walks—barking, lunging, and feeling the need to defend himself.

Now, we’re rebuilding his confidence and boundaries, teaching him that he doesn’t need to react when faced with challenges. Alongside that, we’re working on:

✅ Doorway manners (no more charging the door)

✅ Impulse control (especially around distractions like visitors)

✅ Clear communication between dog and handler (so Marcus can guide him with confidence)

From Reactivity to Reliability 🐾✨

Kipper is making huge strides in his training!

He’s learning that old habits of forward aggression aren’t necessary, and instead, he can listen, stay engaged, and ignore the neighbours when needed.

His owners have also started conditioning the e-collar—not as a shortcut, but as a safety backup for off-leash reliability, especially after a big scare near a main road. Because real freedom comes from knowing your dog will listen, no matter what.

Romeo’s Socialisation Journey 🐾
Romeo and his dedicated handlers continue putting in the work during their 3rd Puppy Training & Socialisation session.

We focused on:
✅ Strengthening Romeo’s engagement with his handlers
✅ Managing excitement right from the moment he exits the car
✅ Rewarding calm eye contact & blocking pulling behavior
✅ Clear feedback through the leash & reward markers

Socialisation isn’t about greeting every dog or person. It’s about teaching puppies how to exist calmly in the real world—navigating busy spaces, respecting boundaries, and settling in public with confidence.

Marte & Saffie’s Journey from Reactive to Reliable

Reactivity isn’t just about barking or lunging—it’s about a dog feeling unsafe, overstimulated, or unsure in public spaces. Marte and Saffie started their training journey with big feelings about other dogs and their environment, but today, in their 4th session, they practiced something crucial:
✅The Art of Doing Nothing✅

🐾 Learning to exist in a public space without stress
🐾 Navigating new surfaces & experiences with confidence
🐾 Understanding ✅clear windows of opportunity✅—when to engage and when to simply relax

With two handlers involved, consistency is key. Everyone has to be on the same page with expectations and boundaries, and that’s exactly what we’re building.

A dog who knows their windows of opportunity, is a dog who understands what’s expected of them—making them reliable, anywhere.

Slinky & Benji’s Training Journey Begins!
This morning, Slinky the Dachshund and Benji the Jack Russell had their first lesson and are kicking off our Manners for Pups package!

They’re working on:

🐾 Staying focused on walks, even around other dogs
🐾 Loose leash walking & confidence in new environments

Training with Pikelet
Today, we focused on helping Pikelet’s owner feel confident taking her anywhere, knowing she’ll listen and follow directions.

She’s not training to be a café dog—that’s not what she’s built for or what her owner needs.

Instead, we’re working on resilience and adaptability so she can handle new environments and genuinely enjoy the lifestyle her owner wants to share with her.

Puppy Socialisation & Training with Flynn the Border Collie
Socialisation is more than just meeting other dogs—it’s about building confidence, resiliance and enthusiasm to engage in desirable behaviours, in new environments. A confident and resilient puppy grows into a well rounded and enjoyable adult dog 🐶

💙 Hammer was fortunate enough to receive a 1 to 1 Puppy Class on Sunday due to many of the puppies enrolled not being able to make it this week!

We discussed and demonstrated more effective management techniques, strategies to encourage more of the behaviours we want to see from Willow, as well as reasonable expectations of behaviout at her current age.

Next week we will begin developing her "rules of play" and understanding of the leash + what to do when she feels leash pressure (and how to feel about it)

🐶🐶 Murphy and Benson the best of brothers...covered in each others slobber....

These two goofy goldens and their owner underwent their initial lesson with us to address inappropriate behaviour (intense excitement and looney-toons shenanagains) whenever guests come over, on top of a few other skill issues around the house and in public.

For their own safety and their owners, we began with addressing the issues Benson was presenting with his lack of impulse control on walks and when excited by guests.

We tidied up their markers, created some new ideas around what leash pressure meant, and used their insatiable food drives to our advantage to establish a clear "bubble of opportunity" for certain behaviours like walking at their owners side and relaxing while tied out.

Im confident that, within a few weeks time of practicing the exercises covered in their initial lesson, these two will be doing their owner proud! 🌟

Cant wait to see their progress in their next session 🤩

Meet Jerry and his amazing handler, Gigi! 🐾✨ (Jerry is handled by his other owner in many of these clips) When Jerry started his Behaviour Modification journey, it was clear he needed more than just the basics. Fear, mismanaged drives, and a lack of foundational skills were holding him back in the human world. Through dedicated 1:1 sessions and intensive support, we’ve worked together to rebuild Jerry’s trust in his handler, create appropriate outlets for his drives, and refine foundational manners. Gigi has grown into such a confident, capable handler, mastering training theory and applying it in ways that truly meet Jerry’s unique needs. Together, they’ve tackled MASSIVE challenges like rewiring Jerry’s extreme feelings about cars, scooters, bin trucks, other dogs, and so much more. 🚛🐕‍🦺 Jerry now sees his past triggers as opportunities to no only play and engage with Gigi, relieving frustration and fear in healthier, but to behave and respond in much more productive and appropriate ways. The progress these two have made both in and outside of training sessions is nothing short of phenomenal. 💪💖 Jerry holds such a special place in my heart, and the bond I’ve built with Gigi over the years has been such a joy.
