VIP HORSE EXPERIENCE DAY @ KSB
VIP Horse Experience Day @ KSB!
The children had so much fun learning how to care for these beautiful animals as well as how to ride!
Most children who ride love to jump and all they want to do is jump, jump, jump! Remember the horse’s wellbeing is paramount . Without our beautiful horses, there wouldn’t be any riding let alone jumping, so we need to put their needs before our needs and wants! Jumping a horse every day can be detrimental for several reasons: 1. Physical Strain and Injury Risk: Frequent jumping puts significant stress on a horse’s joints, tendons, and ligaments, increasing the risk of injuries such as sprains, strains, and joint issues. Consistent high-impact activity without sufficient rest can lead to chronic conditions like arthritis. 2. Mental Fatigue and Stress: Horses, like humans, need variety in their training to stay mentally stimulated. Repetitive jumping can lead to boredom and mental fatigue, reducing a horse’s enthusiasm for work and potentially leading to behavioral issues. 3. Overuse and Burnout: Continuous jumping can lead to overall burnout, where the horse becomes physically and mentally exhausted. This can decrease performance levels and the horse’s overall willingness to work, potentially shortening its career as a jumper. Incorporating a balanced training program that includes rest days, flatwork, and other activities can help maintain a horse’s health and longevity in the sport.
