Meet the Team Monday! We thought it was about time we re-introduced our wonderful team here at Ashgrove Ave.

🐾 Meet the Team: [Your Name] 🐾

For Liberty, the dream of working with animals started during a primary school show and tell, when a veterinarian visited her class. Hearing about the joys of caring for animals every day inspired her to pursue a career in the industry—and she’s been following that dream ever since!

When she’s not at work, Liberty loves spending quality time with her family, including her two energetic little nieces under 2 years old. At home, you’ll often find her cozied up on the couch with her furry companions, Tucci (a Cattle Dog Cross) and Baskins (a Domestic Shorthair), a coffee in hand, and a good book to enjoy.

We’re so lucky to have Liberty on our team, bringing her lifelong passion for animals to every day at the clinic! 🐶🐱💙

Meet the Team Monday! We thought it was about time we re-introduced our wonderful team here at Ashgrove Ave.

🐾Meet Jordan🐾

From a young age, Jordan’s passion for animals set her on the path to a career in the vet industry. She’s currently working towards her Bachelor of Veterinary Science at UQ while bringing her enthusiasm and care to the clinic every Saturday. Jordan loves connecting with clients and their pets, making every visit a positive experience.

When she’s not at the clinic or studying, she dedicates her time to volunteering at Deathrow Unchained Animal Rescue, where she cares for cows and other animals in need. At home, she loves spending time with her playful and food-loving Staffy, Frankie, who is always up for a trip to the beach for a swim.

We’re thrilled to have Jordan on our team, sharing her dedication and warmth with our clients and their pets! 🐕💙

Meet the Team Monday! We thought it was about time we reintroduced our wonderful team here at Ashgrove Avenue Vets.

✨Meet Monica✨

From zoo keeper to veterinary nurse in training, Monica has always followed her passion for animals! 🐾

Starting her career caring for incredible creatures like lemurs, cheetahs, and giraffes, she spent ten years working as a zoo keeper before deciding it was time for a change. Her love for the smaller, cuddlier animals led her to join the Ashgrove Ave Vet team as a receptionist. It wasn’t long before she fell in love with the industry and began studying to become a qualified veterinary nurse.

When she’s not hard at work caring for your pets, Monica loves hitting the hiking trails with her two German Shepherds or relaxing at home, curled up with her two cats and a good TV show.

We’re so lucky to have her as part of our team! 💕

We thought it was about time to re-introduce our wonderful team here at Ashgrove Ave.

Meet Molly!
Since childhood, Molly has been surrounded by animals, growing up in what felt like a mini zoo with dogs, cats, and endless love for furry friends. In 2015, she began fostering litters of kittens—a passion that still keeps her busy (and her heart full) between shifts. 🐾💖

At the clinic when she's not nursing, Molly runs our Puppy Preschool classes, sharing her immense passion for helping new pet parents raise confident, happy pups. Seeing those wagging tails and playful paws makes every class a highlight of her week! 🐶🌟

Outside the clinic, Molly is deeply involved with Village Tails Animal Rescue, dedicating her time to fostering animals in need and helping them find their forever homes. From kittens to puppies, her care and commitment have given so many furry friends a second chance at life. 💕

When she's not working, Molly is at home cuddling her three cats — Sprink, Romeo, and Maple — or tending to her latest group of foster babies. 🐱💜

We’re so lucky to have Molly on our team! Stop by and say hi — her love for animals is truly inspiring. 💚

Meet Our Staff Monday! We thought it was about time we re-introduced our wonderful team here at Ashgrove Ave.

🐾 Meet Jacqui! 🐾
Growing up around vet clinics with family members in the industry, Jacqui eventually combined her teaching background with her true passion—animals and veterinary care. Now, as a skilled vet nurse and one of our Practice Managers, she brings expertise in anaesthesia, nutrition, and dentistry, along with a talent for educating clients on the best ways to care for their pets.

Her background in teaching enhances her role, as she’s dedicated to helping clients and supporting our team to provide the highest quality care. Building strong client relationships and seeing pets thrive is what motivates her every day.

When she’s not at the clinic, Jacqui can be found doting on her horse, Kingi, or off on adventures with her partner. Say hi to Jacqui and learn how she keeps everything running smoothly at Ashgrove Vet! 🌟🐾

AAVC’s 12 Days of Christmas - Day 6🎄

Heatstroke is no joke!

With the increase in heat and humidity, we have seen a rise in heatstroke cases. Pets aren’t able to cool themselves down as effectively as humans so it’s important we are aware of how to keep our pets safe and how to recognise heatstroke.

Heatstroke can result in serious complications, and in some cases can be life threatening.

Symptoms include:
🥵Panting
🥵Drooling
🥵Agitation, or hyperactivity
🥵Weakness and difficulty balancing
🥵Bright red tongue, gums and skin
🥵Skin hot to touch
🥵Collapse

Even if your pet appears to recover, contact us or your nearest emergency centre immediately.

We thought it was about time we reintroduced our wonderful team here at Ashgrove Ave Vets!

Meet Tracey!
With over 25 years of nursing experience, Tracey has dedicated her life to animal care—a passion sparked in childhood, growing up on a family wildlife refuge. Today, as our Practice Manager, she is the heart of our clinic, keeping everything running smoothly, while providing expert care to our patients. 🐾💖

Tracey thrives on the bonds built with regular patients and their loving owners, tackling daily challenges with a smile and inspiring our team to give their best. Her leadership and dedication make our practice a truly special place.

Outside of work, Tracey and her husband love camping adventures with their spirited Kelpie X Staffy, Peppa. Adopted from the RSPCA, Peppa is the queen of long walks along Kedron Brook and never misses a chance to sniff out snacks. 🐕🌳

We’re beyond lucky to have Tracey at the forefront of our clinic. Say hi when you visit — her passion and expertise are unmatched! 💚

AAVC'S 12 Days Of Christmas - Day 3🎄

Toxic Festive Food For Dogs!❌

Although Christmas time for us humans involves an abundance of treats, unfortunately, the furry kind need to be a little more careful. Below are the most common festive foods that are toxic to dogs:

- Chocolate
- Grapes, Raisins and Currants
- Cooked bones
- Alcohol
- Nutmeg
- Macadamia Nuts
- Xylitol (artificial sweetener)

If your dog ingests any of the above, immediate action is required. During our Christmas trading hours, give us a call on 07 33666 6666 OR visit your closest Emergency centre.🚨
