Meet Elsa! 🐾✨

About 2 months ago, lovely Elsa came in for a cruciate repair surgery to repair lameness (weakness) in one of her hind legs. As of currently, she has been showing no signs of lameness and is doing really well! 🐶

She and Dr Kylie have been working together for the last 8 weeks to rebuild her strength, balance, and coordination, with the guidance of multiple physiotherapy exercises. Post-operative rehabilitation is extremely important (just like for humans!) in aiding healing, with the benefits of strengthening the muscles around weakened bones or joints.

Dr Kylie has created a specialised rehab program for Elsa. Some of the different exercises that she has been doing at home include short walks, obstacles, stair and hill work, backwards walking, and reps of sitting and standing.

🐶 Our patients and their families are the best!! 💕Lovely Bruno and his mum brought us some chocolates (they were gone within minutes!!) and a beautiful card. It definitely made our day a lot sweeter! 🐾✨

We are always so grateful and appreciative of all your kind words, cards, and gifts. Working in the veterinary industry can be tough at times, however when we see our patients (and their family) happy and thriving, it makes everything worth it. 💗

🐾✨ We all thought that Artemis had the most beautiful eyes ever when she came in to see us recently!!

🐕 Artemis is a Labradoodle, which is a Labrador Retriever crossed with a Standard or Miniature Poodle.

Oscar giving us a big smile for Monday!! 💕🐕🐾 Unfortunately he had to wear a cone of shame, but we thought he still looked super adorable.

Oscar recently came in for a procedure to fix his 'Cherry Eye', which is a prolapse of the third eyelid gland (this normally stays hidden in the corner of the eye).

This condition usually occurs in young dogs, however some breeds such as English/French Bulldogs, Beagles, and Cocker Spaniels (etc.) are more prone to developing it.

🐾 Archie being the most handsome model with Dr Olivia! 🐱

This lovely boy has been coming in for management of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), which is caused by a mutated form of Feline Coronavirus and the way the immune system reacts to it.

Fortunately, Archie has been a huge trooper, and has been recovering well with medication, under the care of Dr Olivia!

Siblings Kobe and Willow after their dental procedures this week! Our favourite thing is comforting our patients after they wake up from anesthesia. 🐾🐶 It was hard not to keep these two- they just stole our hearts, all wrapped up like the cutest twin "sausage rolls" ever!! 🌭🌭

Aww!! Have you ever seen a baby Brush Turkey before? 🐣😍 Meet little Tony!

This little guy was found and brought to us. We made sure he was warm and fed, before he was collected by the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital to stay until he could be released. 🏥

If you ever find any injured wildlife like Tony, we are able to take them in, where our vets will assess any animals before they are transferred, to ensure they are able to be rehabilitated. 🐾

We absolutely loved caring for him!! During your pet's stay with us, we will ensure they receive our gold standard care. ⭐️ What this looks like to us ➡️ Pre-surgery care such as taking vitals, pre-anesthetic blood tests, pre-pain relief, and fluid therapy. Throughout the surgery, our nurse and vet will closely monitor your pet with our specialised equipment. We will provide post-pain relief and of course lots of love to ensure they stay happy and comfortable the whole time.
